No, Windows supports hardware for which it has drivers.[/quote]true, but then again they are more dirvers out there for winblows then any other OS that i know of Go to www.linuxquestions.org, and see if you can find help there. cool thanks man i'll give that a try Windows has to deal with driver issues to, it's just that since many of those drivers are preinstalled, y
whatwhere
whatwhere - Well that's a bummer. What you point out though is really some of the same problems people have voiced with older PC's and attempting to upgrade to Vista. What hardware didn't it like in your HP? Was it just drivers and can you go get them? If the HP ran 98 and than XP you wo
ok...here it goes, after downloading and burning th ISO of ubuntu 32 bit and trying to install it on a HP 6630 (which used to run 98 but i formatted the drive and installed XP)i formatted the drive to blow XP out and tried to install ubuntu, the OS doesn't support the video card (which is onboard) on the HP...i tested it on that system cause there was no way i was going to install it on my 64 bit system just to find out it doesn't support my hardware.it seems like in order for this OS to be inst
well i checked out some of the stuff on the OS...looks pretty damn good...i'm downloading it right now
WHQL just means it won't complain about signing. Won't affect if the driver works for you or not. If the driver version number is the same, it's the same driver (unless you either got a corrupt package or hacked version). Trying it now, but I'm not having a problem. I'll try tomorrow with 158.18, a 7700GT, and that codec pack. actually when the drivers are WHQL certified it does mean the OS will not cry bout the
best thing i can tell you is, go out and buy a program called spyware doctor, this is one of thee best anti-spyware programs you can get..install spyware doctor and update it then do a full scan you'll be suprised of all the spyware/adware/trojans it finds..i have it and it saved my arse alot of times
linux will never be big unless the OS can support all major hardware and software the way winblows does. this is the reason why we are stuck with microshaft, trust me when i say IF linux had a great GUI like winblows and supported all major hardware and software like winblows can,i would blow out winblows and install linux in a heart beat ,but since linux can not support all hardware and software for now we are stuck with winblows.now my question is....is there any way i can get a mac OS to run o
honestly i don't have that problem how ever instead of re-applying the dream you should be able to right click and choose to pause/play the dream.try doing a reinstall on the deskscape program and see if that helps out any
well the 158.18 forceware drivers are still a beta driver..down grade the drivers to the 101.90 and see if that helps out, how long ago did you install the 158.18 forceware? last time i checked they were beta. UPDATE i just looked on their site just now and now those drivers are WHQL.try downloading those drivers and see if that help
hmm seems like i'll be buying a few of those babies when i build me new rig
in and it will only read the max of 3 gb's Is there a way around this that you can be sure your memory is installed right? or software that will tell you? the only way your going to know if all 4 GB's are installed is in the bios but the OS won't detect all 4 GB's although they might be some programs out there that might be able to tell XP the correct amount
the bug i found in OD 1.9 is, when having the weather icon vista's DEP (data execution prevention) will close out OD 1.9 but if you remove the weather icon vista's DEP won't close it..as far as the start button not working for you, just totally uninstall OD and reboot, after you reboot delete the OD folder and then reinstall OD 1.9..hopefully that work's for ya..also make sure you have admin privilege's other wise it won't install
because in win xp (if that's what your running) will only read the max of 3 GB's cause XP does not have a good PAE (physical address exchange) so you could have 20 gb's of memory in and it will only read the max of 3 gb's
my games work fine, i have doom 3,quake 4,stalker shadow of chernobyl,UT2004,prey, half life 2 and the oldest game i got is aliens vs predator 2...all them work just fine.
it's more and likely you'll ether have to set up a dual boot or nuke the drive all together.since vista was pre-installed it's a high chance it's a fresh install meaning there is no other OS on the drive but the current one.some often a OEM will set 2 partitions on the drive, one being the main (where the OS is installed and running) and the other is usually a restore.
Or for crying out loud. Go to start Click on Control Panel Click on Programs Click on Uninstall Programs Click on WB's and click uninstall Thats all their is too it. Sometimes you might want to go into Computer and double click on Hard Drives, and then click on Programs, scroll down until you get to Stardock and the Object Desktop and click on that. usually when i delete a program it is also best to go thru the registry with a scanning tool like tweaknow's reg cleaner or program called registry crawler and delete the reg settings the program has installed in the reg.how ever if you are unfamiliar with the registry then don't bother with it,deleting the wrong entry will most often render the system useless
i hope all goes well for ya.
i was wondering when single programs such as cursor vista, object dock and logon vista will be available for download in single programs like how cursor XP is with out having to purchase and download the entire object desktop program
well frankly i use symantec and honestly i have no problems with it plus not to mention it saved my arse a few hundred times

hopefully they will use the same taskbar as vista ultimate
$3,495.00. You might be able to find it a bit cheaper if you shop around. for that price i hope it can wash clothes and everything else
i got the 64 bit version because it has greater coding and a greater architecture and is more far more superior and stable then the 32 bit versions, with the 64 bit hardware the OS is (to me it is) a lot faster...so far i have yet to get any BSOD's with vista x64 compared to a lot of the BSOD's i would get in XP pro (32 bit)when playing games like DooM 3,quake IV and HL2 ETC..plus not to mention being that 64 bit is alot more superior and stable then that of 32 bit eventually in the next 2 to 5
why not just bring out the...ban hammer and ban the guy?
