I like your defense templates. Any tips on building them that perfectly in a timely manner? I know you can hold Shift to build multiple buildings without having to reselect them and you can hold Alt to see the turret range circles, but it seems like it would be frustrating get the placements exact and symmetrical quickly so you can move on to other things. I have a question, Wyndstar (Actually multiple questions on the same subject). When you are getting that many research points per turn, is it possible to completely research more that one tech per turn? I have played a few games on normal research speed and have turned the research slider to 100% for a large portion of the game. Quick question about something I can't find in the manual in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

On the main screen, in the bottom-left corner of the UI, there is a square containing a picture of your selected planet and a "View" button. In the upper-left corner of this square is the number for planet quality and in the upper-right corner there is an orange symbol. What does this symbol mean? It is a small circle with an arrow pointing downward. Clicking on it does nothing, and I have not seen or read an explanation anywhere.

In the bottom lefthand corner of the UI there is a picture of earth with a 10 for planet quality and a button to view the planet. What is the orange symbol in the upper righthand corner? What does it do or mean? There is a red cirle drawn around it in one screenshot in the walkthru. I can't find any info on this in the manual.
