Milskadasdgada and Lugh: holy crap, don't full text quote, it makes my eyes burn. just quote the friggin sentence you're actually responding to. jeez.

can you prove that he intentionally spiked his ping? how do you know it was a coincidence?
lol@you. you've got a whole thread full of people saying you're wrong and calling you a whiner. and you say i'm not smart? at least i can type a complete sentence. i at least tried to present a coherent argument without calling you names. but if thats how you wanna roll, screw you. you're a retard. learn english.
additionally, a short list of other high profile RTS games that use P2P connections: Company of Heroes Dawn of War 2 Warcraft 3 (the section of battle.net that WC3 uses is a hybrid p2p and client-server system) Supreme Commander p2p is basically the industry standard for RTS games. don't be misinformed. the problems Demigod has experienced were due to poor scalability on a particular piece of code (the NAT fa
Sins of a Solar Empire uses client-server hosting through Stardock servers. it also has a very small multiplayer community, something to be aware of if you're interested in multiplayer primarily. the developer of Sins is Ironclad, and it is published by Stardock. I own the game, its fantastic. amazingly good single player experience. multiplayer can be tricky because the pacing of the game is not naturally well suited for it. average game ca
[you're totally right. why are we talking parenthetically?]
Crucible is a broken map because of the teleport bug. Erebus with Bat Swarm, or any general with Cloak of Night can exploit a design flaw in the map's geography. honestly what do you think happens if you get Rook and Reg vs Erebus and QoT (using Cloak of Night) on this map? Pantheon's random teaming just makes this situation even less manageable.
level 1 Shield removes the debuffs. try it yourself. the tooltip is faulty. also consider that if a TB fireballs you for 1050 when you're at 900 you just plain die. if a Beast spits on you you have a chance to live if you can drink a Health potion, get healed, port back to the crystal, etc.
there's alot of wrong information in this thread. please go look at some of the posts from Frogboy explaining in more detail how the game's connectivity really works.
uh... thats not very forgiving. comebacks can happen. i was expecting you to say if a SINGLE PLAYER goes 5 deaths in a row without contributing anything then you'll quit. i would too. can't stand playing while handicapped by a feeder. however, i've been in plenty of games where my team takes a few early deaths than gets a bit smarter and pulls it out in the end.
i regularly join matchups against pre-made teams specifically because its the best fight i'll find all night. not that i'm super pro or anything, just average (maybe slightly above average), but i like a challenge. even as i'm getting stomped by a good team i'll try to watch and learn. sometimes i can even chat with them about strategy as i'm getting my face pounded. SOMETIMES I EVEN WIN! yeah, there are plenty of good players that are attracted to competitive mat
is it even a debate though, i mean you just get Ooze 1 at level 1, Diseased Claws 1 at level 2, and Inner Beast 1 at level 3. you're set on speed for a long time after that. after level 3 is when you start making the real decisions. most people will max Inner Beast before Diseased Claws for the attack speed boosts. i'm not sure i agree with that though since those boosts are most relevant in the late game. the Diseased Claws boosts are always relevant. making them EVEN
necessary but not sufficient as they say in Philosophy. Great is competent (and then some). Competent isn't necessarily great (but its at least not bad).

thanks for the update Frogboy. all these updates sound like really good additions that we've been eagerly awaiting. I'f I might make a business-oriented suggestion regarding Demigod after the updates... are you familiar with CD-Projekt and their handling of The Witcher Enhanced Edition? They made a number of very nice improvements to the original (already very good but slightly buggy) release and put it out with
SteelToast, you're wrong. Spit is just a direct damage ability. its comparable in nearly every way to Fireball (the closest similar ability) and comparable in many ways to other Direct Damage abilities like Snipe, Pounce, Hammer Slam, Penitence, Bite, etc. getting hit by ANY 2 ABILITIES is bad news for you. do you really percieve there to be any fundamental difference between getting hit by a Fireball and a Spit vs. just 2 Spits? Just think about
si1foo, 1000 damage plus her health (about 2500-3000 at level 10) is NOT hard to make up with just auto-attacks and minion hits. don't forget that you're getting bonus damage for 3 seconds after each bite. also don't forget that you can have more than just the Nightwalkers as minions. the Idols work too. honestly, there's nothing deficient about Erebus damage output. if you think the only damage he's capable of dealing is with Bite and
Plague is not so useless as people make it out to be. the main uses, as have been mentioned by others, are for "tagging" and interrupting HoL (or any of the other effects that break on damage). those are both highly significant uses in my opinion, but thats not the only thing its good for. Plague spreads around the map remotely and is contagious. it puts damage on your opponents without you being there. its like a passive -10 (or -15 at rank 2) to enemy health reg
tactic isnt lame at all. its smart and likely to win. it puts the enemy team on the defensive, camping out at their locked flag waiting for the other guy to come over and try to lock it again. or it forces them to concede the flag and try to do the same thing to the enemy, in which case it becomes a race to down the citadel. neither of those scenarios is lame or boring. they're both highly interactive strategically deep play scenarios. good gameplay, not lame.&nbs
cool. thanks.
"minions dont really add that much dmg" is a false statement.
your solution is a bad one. if items are in themselves problematic they should be fixed. there's no sense in allowing players to optionally disable gameplay elements. its a slippery slope. what comes next is "no Regulus allowed" or "no citadel gold upgrade allowed" or anything else that someone thinks is too strong.
1) your Demigod is not persistent. you begin every new game with a level 1 demigod. typical matches are quick, they last 15-30 minutes on average. during a match you can earn Favor Points, which are persistent and do last between matches. Favor Points can be used to unlock powerful Favor Items that you can begin play with. 2) pretty decent amount. hard to quantify precisely because i don't have all the data. there are usually several hundred players on at all time
don't fool yourselves guys the stats seem to say that the Rook on Tassadar's team was nearly worthless and just fed the enemy team without accomplishing much himself. the Regulus at least got some decent Assists in and probably helped out Tassadar racking up those kills. its usually the other way around though, Reg gets more Kills than any other DG if played well. long range, burst damage, finishing moves, Reg should have the most kills normally. you can also see
Noob B is a good guy and a good team-mate. that goes without saying, i thought i made that clear. however, despite being a nice guy and having a great attitude i'd still rather have a different player on my team. this is just the perspective of competition. there's a time and place for training and a time and place for competing. if i'm playing a very casual, low stakes kind of game than i'm more than happy to play with inexperienced players and help them learn. if i'm playing against a very
