no help yet - and also another problem with DSL at work regarding the multimedia files - first the upgrade was 30 MB NOW it's reporting as 81 (i.e. new full download) and keeps giving me Error: SDS0004 Could not retrieve file XXXXXXX on server http://scripting.stardock.com/ This happens with different files - can't you use AT LEAST use or build in a utility like netscape smart download utility that prevents the MULTIPLE downloading of the same material?

Why should the start be hidden, look out at the sky at night and you can place thousands of stars! the location of the stars is not the basic mystery even if space there has not been explored (check out the latest Hubble pictures for proof of that)it's the location of races and eveything else. The basic scentific model is accurate on that account

Playing at my work computer now (need to get DSL at home!) LOVE the improvements except for the colony ship expense.HOWEVER, I am still boggled by the economic model - No matter what I do or how I try to focus on improving my economy I simply can't make near the money the other players are! What bonuses are they getting?

That's the problem - my home vid card is incapable of 1024x768 with 16-bit - it's in an old IBM that won't allow me to upgrade unless I purchase a PCI (no AGP slot) - has USB but not AGP

I just tried for 4 hours to upgrade Gal Civ via dialup - two times i was booted midfile. THEN two times I finally downloaded the whole thing just to get a permission error when unzipping the last of the files! NOW I have to download it all AGAIN! :VOMIT: :VOMIT: :VOMIT: PLEASE tell me there's a simple solution!

Minimum requirements and economy in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I've had difficulty figuring out what the minimum syteme requirements are of this game! It works on some older systems but nowhere near all. Also the Economic model is vague at best - it seems the alien races all have a significant monetary advantage even at cakewalk level! - Can any of you help me with either of these issues? :sniff!:
