You have the RGB, Red, Green, Blue channel layers PLUS Alpha that you created? I'm sure I tried that once with no luck. But I'm far from an expert when it comes to these things

I think Koasati is right. PS CS doesn't do TGA very well. I've experienced the same problem as Essorant where old files that worked in PS7 now don't get transparency when saving as TGA in CS. I've tried playing with the alpha channels with no luck. I now save as PNG and then let SkinStudio convert them to TGA for me. This however won't help Essorant as he still codes by hand if I remember correctly.
I think both joeKnowledge and Bustin A Bogie have valid points. Applications like Sysmetrix have more than likely seen more and more people leave applications like Oxygenator, QX, SkinMem etc as it's easier (and makes more sense I guess) to use the one application to do it all. And even when skin suites were more popular, very few people, when considering how many skinners there are, actually created 'great' skin suit
I've been going through some of my older skins as I update my own website and I've come to realise a few things. Firstly, I've skinned quite a few different applications over the years and have had fun at the same time. Secondly, I don't skin many applications now as I find myself only really skinning what I use on a regular basis (I'm still having fun though ). And
i sleep on Saturday mornings.... Rubbish - Snowman never sleeps Although it wasn't in my childhood, the best morning cartoon series I've seen was The Tick. Comics are better though <img src="http://images.star
Awesome. Thanks for the link.
In WindowBlinds you just need to make the custom Throbber image (as mentioned by coffeegrinder) which is easy enough to do. You need to make each frame of your animation and place them one on top of the other in a BMP file in the order you want them to appear. The throbber image sizes are 38 pixels wide for the large Throbber, 26 pixels wide for the medium Throbber and 22 pixels wide for the small Throbber. Image depth depends on the frame count of
Best: Watching my children open their presents. Worst: I agree with WrecklessEric
Big list. Good luck on all of that
Happy Birthday Randy. Here's to many more
I'm with Ande
Hippy/Mark is up there with Treetog and co. in my books. I'm always impressed with what he produces and with the way he handles himself. Great article. Thanks for writing it.
Mine is a P4 1.6 with 512MB RAM. I'm about to put in a 120GB Hard drive and keep the existing 80GB as backup/swap space. DVD Burner has allowed me to back everything up on one disk for once too I was dual monitor but one blew up when I had a power failure a long time ago
I use Quintessential Player (QCD) and WikMail daily. That's about all I use that doesn't have a section here now.
Ande - I was actually swooped by a magpie when my picture was taken Well, it wasn't actually me the magpie was after
I use Quintessential Player (QCD) as it is easy to skin, easy to use and allows me to use the old Sonique visuals I love. It simply does all I want my media player to do
Cool. I always find it interesting to see what other skinners look like. I like this option
Great site. I hope they get back into the interviews etc one day too. Nicely written article too
I think a lot of it has to do with the updates of the applications themselves as already stated. I think when the development stalls the skinning can stall also. When they both stall, interest fades. Plus when you get applications that cover more than one feature (such as Sysmetrix now does) people will tend to stop using several applications when the one can do it all.
I actually hope that sites such as Pixtudio, Essorant and Skinplant do well in the years to come. I think that the initial 'community' shock is over in relation to paying for skins and I would love to see these sites (and hopefully others) earning full time incomes one day for their top quality skins. I just wonder if skinning would be the same if it were not a hobby, but a job. Would it be a dream job? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
Citizen Kobrano - You can add Alexa to the list of searches in the Web Search feature if that helps. George Rogers Jr. - You can change themes in firefox and you can also edit the toolbar icons you wish to display. I'm not sure if either of those are what you're reffering to I learn something new about Firefox daily and I've been using it for a whil
I think the extension you're talking about is called ieview. I use it and love it I also use the Web Developer extension to resize the browser window and a whole heap more.
I started in '99 I think with Sonique and MPFree. Then I discovered customize.org and skinz.org and got addicted. A lot has changed since then, but I'd say the people that inspired me then are still the people who inspire me now. People like Treetog, Hippy and other familiar names who have been constantly at it for years. They were good back then and are even better now.
Got mine. It's #1 now it seems in the Visual Customization Sites category.
Does anybody know if somebody of 'Journeyman' status (or whatever the new equivalent might be on the new site) gets his wallpapers moderated? As I've mentioned, I know my skins get automatically added to the site, but I'm not sure about wallpapers. If wallpapers are moderated for all, then I might upload the wallpapers as seperate files next time. And if they don't make the cut, then I'll add the wallpaper as paxx suggested. Thanks a
