If you like it, try it and use it, if not, move on, there's always something new coming out that you will like, and screw anyone that can't appreciate the love and talent that it takes to do whatever style, or even not much talent but a desire to try and to try to get better My sentiments exactly.</font

Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure how Suites work though to be honest. For example, if you uploaded a wallpaper as several resolutions in a zip file I assume the Theme Manager would not be able to install the wallpaper? But by providing the wallpaper/s as JPGs, my WindowBlinds file sizes would drop drastically most of the time. So I see benefits to making the wallpapers seperate from the WindowBlinds files. The other thing that I have to c
Ah - sorry about that It's just that I've received comments in regards to my extra buttons being in the wrong place. In that case I think that offering a substyle with the standard buttons in the standard position is a good idea. That way you have offered originality and normality for those that prefer it <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/joke.
I generally put the 'normal' buttons in the 'correct' place. But when you add extra buttons, how can they be in the wrong place? They were never in the 'correct' place to start with I guess in that case all you can do is create a substyle that doesn't include the extra buttons for those that fear change <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/smile.gif" border
I don't have any wallpapers on this site (or any site for that matter) as the only wallpapers I ever make are intended to go with my WindowBlinds creations. On the occasion that I forget to include the wallpaper with my WindowBlinds file when I upload it here I can quite often get requests for the wallpaper and that has got me thinking. What is the best way to please everybody when it comes to wallpapers? Should you include the wallpaper with t
I am still amazed at how popular clone skins are (even with WindowBlinds). I personally like skins that are original and at least trying for some kind of different look. Change the location of buttons, add extra features to the standard windows and definately change the look. But often when someone does this, they'll get the occasional complaint that it is hard to use or not the colours they would have chosen etc. I thought this was the poin
I just thought I'd let you know that I used this tutorial to create the substyle for my latest skin and it worked a treat. As for creating a WB skin in a text editor, well you're a braver person than me
Australia like Jafo. I expected to see more from here actually. (And I really don't like that 'Men At Work' song )
I think Hippy is right with his statement on the advertising. I also think that different sites are slowing developing in different directions. Some sites seem to be happy to not focus on news so much and just be a place for people to upload their work. These sites are pretty much running themselves now with the downside being less member interaction.
Apart from a few in Frogboy's list above I also visit Teknidermy - http://www.teknidermy.com/ , Skinnables - http://www.skinnables.org/ , a few skinnable software developer's websites and several individual skinner's personal sites. I am trying to cut back though
Mine is empty currently when I view from the Stats tab.
Great interview. Great skinner
I don't know if it's my browser, but I don't see the link. So is this it? http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html
Congratulations to all of the winners. And thanks for sharing some top quality skins with us all
I'll be staying home and getting together with family for christmas. Same as every year. But for the first time ever, we have the tree up early Now to get heaps of presents under it for the kids I enjoy christmas more now that my children are old enough to truly enjoy it.</fon
From my understanding, unique downloads means no matter how often someone re-downloads a skin for an update, it won't affect this competition. I say congratulations to all the people in the top 10
As much I have at times wished I had such control, I still think CerebroJD is right. That sort of control should be left in the hands of the people running the site. If you have the ability to remove certain comments etc, you can throw out the flow of the page. e.g. if you removed post #11 now, mine wouldn't make sense to anyone reading the thread from start to finish <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN
The colour is a big improvement. I like A big 'Great job!' to all involved.....
Cool smileys. I like them. They look cool I like the idea of matching them to the chameleon and hope the chameleon gets featured in the new design some more. And from what I've read elsewhere, the colours of this site haven't been finalised yet anyhow. So I wouldn't get too upset if they don't match right now. They might later <img src="http://images.stard
No Problems. And the west is just hot > I'd much rather be at Bribie
I've been using this application since it came out (It began its life as BoxIP). I would almost certainly say it is spyware free. I believe the free version may show you ads from a direct database in the program itself. The full version has no advertising. Another benefit to the full version is the advanced email feature which allows you to see the mail on your server and delete it directly before trying to download it (handy if someone has sent you a file way too big to download). It
I'd actually hope that your skin design/s might actually get other people looking at other ways to do what has already been done so many times before. Sure, people should continue to make glass/steel/dark/trendy skins if they want to, but try and do something different. I'm trying that now and it's not easy. I wish you luck and eagerly await the results of your project.
Ooh cool. I was wondering about all of that. I'll go try it now. Thanks for the tip
I really like the 2 column layout. And the new additions to the top of the front page look great. If all pages used the same style it would be much better
Your link for xplorer2 doesn't work for me. http://netez.com/xplorer2/x2lite.htm is what came up for me when I searched Google. Looks interesting though. So thanks for the tip
