I've noticed something interesting... Once upon a time, console games were the cheaper alternative to PC games. Now the industry has flip flopped. The next gen console games seem to be, on average, between $10 and $20 more expensive. What does that do to the developer? If that extra bit of revenue is trickling down to the dev, then it's got to be tempting to switch over to the console. If it isn't, where is that extra revenue going? Anoth

I agree with what you're saying about the end game. Adding endgame techs could help, but only up to a point. I love the idea of different win conditions. The trick to making that fun will be to come up with things that fit the setting, and that are original. What if there were a few "special" artifacts that let you win if you control all of them. That would give you an incentive to target specific worlds and keep you from having to "mop up" if you don't want to.&

Like someone else said, I'm expecting my dream game. I've played Master of Magic since release. To this day it's my favorite title. Even with it's age, it's still the most fun I've had on a pc. I was SOOO excited when I heard that a sequal was coming, devistated when it fell through, and bursting with joy when I heard Stardock would be doing a Not-MOM anyway. I really can't wait! It's a dream come true for me. :) Just please don

I wonder what the details of the class action suite are. Anyone here in the know? I wonder if we are all able to get in on it, we being those of us who bought Spore at launch know knowing about the SecureROM stuff. I also wonder if I have it as I installed it on a Macintosh. Is SecureROM active on the Mac install too? Anyone know? I'll keep looking and post something if I find anything. :)

I think you may be right. The patch delay has hurt online play a tad, but even with it I doubt you'd be seeing a HUGE number of players. I can't speak to why. Sins is an awesome title and has a lot of players. Maybe it's the length of the games that keep online play down. With so many "casual gamers" out there, I'm hard pressed to find partners that will commit to muliple hours of gameplay at a time. Doesn't bother me much though. I LOVE the single pl

Not an original idea, but something I'd like to play with would be some sort of assault troop ship. It could either launch troop pods that attach to an enemy ship's hull or the entire ship could grapple itself to the target. Then it would slowly begin taking over the ship. It could only do this to ships whose shields are down. Here's another type that might be fun to play with, a cap ship or cruiser that specialized in cultural attacks. An easy concept for the

Sakhari, I agree 100%. The "power" of a supoerweapon is in it's ability to reach out and hurt you without ever having to endanger itself. Very cool. I love them just the way they are, and with Entrenchment coming, they will rock. :)

Personally, I'd hate to see the caps nerfed. I do like the OP's suggestion that they remove the bombbardment ability from the colony caps. If that's not possible with the current code, I'd say they remove the colony ability from teh cap ships, give the colony caps a different support ability, and then alter the colony frigates. Make the colony frigate the ONLY early game option for expansion, then add a colony cruiser. The colony frigate can pretty much stay in

I'm absolutely loving this game. From what I can get my hands on, the Entrenchment expansion is going to be awesome as well. I really only have one "must have" request. Is there any chance that we could get an option to make the pirates tougher? I don't just mean giving them more ships, but giving them tougher ships. Not only tougher ships, but I'd like to see them get a lot more aggressive. Maybe they could pick grav wells they consider thier "territory" t

Wow! Ok... Now I have to say, after having seen the footage.... I no longer want Entrenchment, I NEED Entrenchment!!! That clip was short, but upon careful examination, there was tons of new stuff going on there. WOW! Gimme! How am I going to be able to wait?? :) Thank you Ironclad! And thank you Stardock!

After playing for a while, I've really started to think about the tech tree. Once you get to the late game and you have researched all the tech you've basically seen all that there is to see. It would shake things up a bit if the choices you make as you research through the tree locked you out of certain branches. If balanced correctly it could really spice up the research aspect as you'd really have to think about what to pick next. It would also color things a

I love how diplomacy is handled here. The mission based interaction is very clean and simple. I like that. The ability to offer agreements and or accept agreements rounds it out enough too. I like that. There's just one piece missing. In keeping with the current system, I'd like to be able to assign missions to others. Others being AI opponents. I've never even fired up the multiplay and don't plan to any time soon.... If I could assign

I hope this hasn't been addressed before... Thus far I've only played through as TEC. I like them so much I haven't switched sides long enough to delve very deep in tthier tech tree. The Akkon Battlecruiser has a special abilty, Ion Cannon or Ion Burst is what I think it's called. If not it's something close. I've noticed that it's effect is so short, even at it's highest level, that it seems virtually ineffective. I know it would be easy to mess it up by

Ah, I didn't know about the post release stuff. I see what they were after then. For me, I'd would have liked a bit more unit diversification. It seems the frigates are a one for one match. I like how they did the capital ships. I've not played the otehr races enough to see all the cruisers. They might be more like the caps, but I'm not sure.

I wish there was another level of ship that would be a step larger than the capital ship. Make them a bit more heavily armed, add some additional special abilities....etc. Make them VERY expensive and time consuming to build. Maybe even use another size ship yard to make them. I just think it'd be fun to have more to do at end game other than the super weapons. I'm excited about the starbases in Entrenchment. :) TEC can hold thi

If I had one complaint about Sins, it would be the lack of racial diversity. Will the new expantions further increase the difference between the three races? I'd love to see more diversity. :) For me, it's what really made Civ 2 Twilight great.

Man, you all have done it again. Sins of a Solar Empire is AWESOME! You definately have made a fanboy out of me. :) Thanks for doing what you do. I can't wait to see what's coming in the these expansions. I've already preordered Entrenchment. :) You know what would be out of this world? A Sins of a Solar Empire style MMO! :) Yipes! Yes, kudos to Ironclad. Hell, kudos to b

Uh oh. I thought of one more thing. Sorry.... I would like to either have the following removed or have a settings toggle put in place so I could disable it. I am getting a LOT of X races asteroid mining station has decided to send their goods to Y race because they think they are cool... I don't care! If it's not my mining station, I don't want to hear about it and could care less...unless of course it's me the alien station is going to start sending goods too. Other wi

I just have one thing I'd like changed right away. The planetary assault screen. I might be flamed, but I think I liked the older version better than the TA one. The new one doesn't really do anything for me. I'm sorry, and don't mean to offend, but the new screen is boring. There is very little going on to see other than the colored bar graphs. I liked seeing the little soldiers and war machines duking it out. I kinda miss that. :(

Hey guys and gals of Stardock. I know you all are busy, and I appreciate all the hard work. I'm definately a Stardock fanboy at this point. :) I'm going to make a request here, as I'm not sure where best to do it. You have a product called Natural Desktop available on Stardock Central. It's for XP. If you all could find time to set it up for Vista, I'd buy it the same day it was released. I LOVE the concept, especially since I'm stuck working in an underground facility. No windows....
