About a week ago, my friend suggested I tweak my paging file, and since then, I've gotten 2 "Out of memory" errors when playing GC2: DA. I just got my second one, and when I clicked "okay", the game crashed. Since I'm guessing it has to do with my paging file, can someone suggest what I should do with it? I have Windows Vista Ultimate with 1.5GB of RAM. Currently it's 1050MB Initial, 2400MB Max. And if it matters, the report on the GC2 crash said: Problem signature: Probl

I use SP1, and this happened before I upgraded, too. Stardock gives great support for GC2, but for this, it's horrible. I've had this problem for about a month now, and the only "help" I've gotten was a suggestion to use the stable version. That would be great if THAT didn't crash too. You guys keep asking about what your doing at the time, which doesn't help much, cause with *ME* atleast, I get it no matter WHAT I do, run, ect. The problem is WB making Explorer crash. I can get it by looking at
It's pretty bad this isn't fixed yet. I'm sick of having it crash 3-5 times a day. Every time it does, I gotta restart Explorer, go into task manager and close several programs that it "breaks", re start those programs, and simply wait for the next explorer crash. I've tried with the latest stable version, the previous beta, and I'm hesitant to try the new one(Well I think it's new), cause I get the same shit in a FINAL build. Oh, and now, that I went back to the stable version, I can't
Glad it worked out for you! Enjoy the game.
Yep. It should a sticker on the GC2 jewel case.
Hmm, then I don't know what to tell you. :x
I think thats pretty pitiful. If you had the proper pics(Box, case with serial sticker still on, CD's, manual, ect.) they SHOULD issue you a new serial. I mean c'mon, it costs them nothing to do so, and refusing to do that, is horrible "support."
Make sure your not using characters that aren't allowed. Ie. ; [ $, ect.
Nvm, realized this thread was old, and it's in the "In development" area.
Good eye.
Yea, I can get it working..half the time. I'm thinking I should just reinstall, but I don't wanna mess up my current game.
Looks nice.
Ummm...and?

Nope, it will crash regardless of what I'm doing. I've even had it crash when I was afk, and had nothing, but msn runninh. And I don't use deskscapes.
I found the Admin tools, and I believe I found the error, but I can't copy all of it. What I was able to copy was this: Faulting application Explorer.EXE, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918e5d, faulting module WBLIND.dll, version 6.1.0.0, time stamp 0x47b6c833, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00007f67, process id 0x788, application start time 0x01c87a9048122d6d.
I've gotten the crashes with both 6.02 and the beta. The only error message I get is "Windows Explorer has stopped working", but I'll try to take a screen shot next time I see it. And lastly, I only installed my WB6 2 days ago, and I got the first crash within 2 hours of installing.
As most of you have seen, in the last few days of using Windows Blinds 6, I've had numerous problems. I've figured out to fix most of them, but I've been getting a CRITICAL error. My Windows Explorer keeps crashing due to WB6, and it's more than annoying. Once this happens, it 1) Closes FreeRAMXP(A RAM monitoring program I use.) 2) Makes it so I CAN'T close ANY window unless I right click on the window in the taskbar, and manually close it. 3) And since it's been happening, it's closed Microsoft
Huzzah! Thanks for putting it all into one package!
I tried the exe/launcher that it installs to the desktop, I tried running the one in the start menus, and all the exe's in the Stardock/ Total Gaming folder.
Okay, I tried to start up GC2, but I get a different window than I usually do, and I can't get it to play. The menu only has "Play The Game", and "Manual." If I press play the game, nothing happens, and if I press Manual, It tells me it can't find it. I tried running it from the start menu, desktop, AND running the game directly from the Total Gaming folder, but it WON'T run. I haven't played it in like 3 days, and I didn't patch in this time. Can someone tell me why I can't play? [IMG]ht
Just got the crash again. Edit: Just got it again... this is getting annoying, especially since it closes background programs I run.
Well, I can agree with this. KOTOR2 was too rushed, and I didn't like the new GUI, and NWN2 has the most annoying f**king camera a game has EVER seen. I haven't been able to get into NWN2, because of it, so I can't really have an opinion on the game.
Edit: Well it doesn't matter much, since I haven't had the problem since I upgraded to the beta, but I thought I'd post in advance, in case it appeared again. Nope, the text is fine with IE. Gah, just noticed another "problem." If I use the "Explorer Windows" setting, the background for it disappears when the window is maximized.
