Ion Drive tech tree glitch? in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Hey folks, recently came back to Galactic Civilizations TotA starting as a custom race, however I noticed something curious that I'm not sure was intended. When picking any tech from a faction tech tree (Terran, Korx, etc) I can pick Hyperdrive -> New Propulsion Techniques -> Ion Drive, effectively using up all 200 tech points with Hyper Fusion Reactors. However when I deselect Hyper Fusion Reactors, it takes Hyperdrive with it, leaving New Propulsion Techniques and Ion Drive behind
