13Pelon13 - You can find more info on/download desktop x here https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/downloads.asp. Also, you can have animated wallpaper on your desktop by enableing your active desktop, but this could be (not sure) a resource hog [Message Edited]

Lucky you Fuzzy Logic. Im glad you were able to restore your last version of SS. But I think you meant to say 9/9/03 not 10/9/03. (as 10/9 hasn't come yet ) I unfortunatly do not have such a program. I dont want to do a full system restore unless I absolutly have to. Anyone now how to revert back to the last version

BTW, I had already tried unchecking all the colors and then rechecking again, and that didnt work. Gee, this could be reported as a bug in SS. I have switched versions while in the midst of making a skin in the past and I'v never had this problem before this. It defenitly has to do with the newest version. Again,(call me stupid) but how can I revert back to the last version?

Installed the latest beta of what? Were you using a shareware or free version of the prog? If so you might not be able to update to the newest version without buying it. Please tell us more.

I am working on a WB skin, and I have all the colors set the way I want them. The skins colors display correctly in skin studio, but once I apply the skin, some weird colors show up. For instance: the window boarders show up yellow, yet the color I selected in SS was black. And the info message background shows up green, and I did not select green for that . I have never had this problem before, and it's driving me nuts! I dl'd the latest SS on 10/2 (after I had already started the skin),

Ps. To expand how many icons the quick launch bar shows, do the following: right click on your taskbar and uncheck "lock taskbar". You should now see a taskbar gripper ( a small graphic that lets you click on it with your mouse and drag it). Drag the gripper to the right Untill the taskbar displays as many icons as you want to display. Then rightclick on the taskbar again and "lock the taskbar"

aarielle - The quick lauch bar will hold as many shortcuts as you put there. The amount of icons it displays depends on where your taskbar grippers are. To expand the list of icon in quick launch, click on the little arrow to the right of the icons.

"the ones that look like the 'quick launch' icons--- " If you are referring to the quick launch buttons, it's simple. Right click on a blank spot on your taskbar, then from the pop-up menu, choose: toolbars---->quick launch. You can drag and drop icons of programs to that area, and they will show up on your quick launch bar

Google toolbar is now equipped with a pop-up stopper, and it seems to be a good one. Also thanks everyone for the tips on this thread. I also needed a ram revitalizer. I downloaded and I am currently using cacheman, and it seems to be helping.

I know what u mean china. Ive done it so many times now on different computers I could do it with my eyes closed. And it is quite a learning experience. BTW format and repartion = re-format and re-partition (gotta watch my spelling) [Message Edited]

This question was asked before, and at that time I didn't know the answer. But my puter recently crashed and I had to format and repartion and re-install windows......anyway while getting my puter back to the way I had it, I didscoverd that if u disable the auto play feature for the cd drive, u also get rid of that pesky icon. To do this go to "my computer", right click on the cd drive icon and from the "properties window, under "autoplay", choose "take no action" for each type of cd.
