what version of WB do you have and what version of windows?
crissy14
Just out of curiosity; the skin you are trying to edit, is it the skin you currently have loaded? If it is, apply a diffent skin, edit the skin in question, then apply it.
and if I do rename it, rezip it and re-upload it, will I loose all my current dl's and comments?
Thank Davidk and brain. Now to fix it, I would assume I will need to delete the space from the name and rezip it. correct?
However, even though my XP nuse skin WAS in my profile image, I am using gabriels "overbite" Skin
Right now it is. But thats because I uploaded a SS image to try to help someone on another thread. Untill about 1/2 hour ago I had my XP nurse skin in my desktop image. Gabriel must have looked at it in the past half hour then. Gabriels been peeking....
Ok. How about checking this. Right click on the WB icon in your system tray and choose "configure windowblinds". In the "user overides--->font overides" section, make sure the dialog says the following: "i want to leave fonts the default size " and "all skin defined fonts are replaced by--- leave fonts alone "
Gabriel Yes , I am using your skin. I love it! (have not had time to go back to it and comment yet) You did a great job on it. But tell me,how did you know I'm using it?
Thanks brain, but I already did all of the above last night. It was re-uploaded in the wee hours this morn. This one's got me stumped. [Message Edited]
eznoh Boy oh boy! You're having a tough time of it! But hang in there, and we'll try to get u thru this. From your last post, I can't really determine if you did the correct steps, because I have never seen any font set at #5 by default. I've always seen it set at arial #14. Click on my screen name and look at my dektop image (you'll have to enlarge it to see it well). Note what is highlighted in the left and right trees, and note where my mouse cursor is. Where my mouse cursor is , i
Would any experienced skinner be willing to look at the files in my latest upload, "Caramel light" and tell me what's wrong with it? Some people can download and install it and others can not. The skin Originally had a generic name "skin1", but when I renamed it, I made sure all the files were changed. I don't know what the problem is. I'm baffled. Thanks https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?aut
Koasati - I think the outline you're referring to is , left tree-->bar items right tree-->menu selection outline. (I think). But I have also had that annoying problem with the fuzzy disabled text. When it happens, seems like I fiddle with it forever to fix it, then when it is fixed, I don't have a clue how I fixed it.
hey IR. What's happening? Your newest upload is a big hit. Congrats!
jafo Right now the indicator that' "stuck" is for my newest upload, not America. Yes I saw that you removed some of the comments from "America". Thats fine. It was getting a little out of hand.
That could be your problem. The latest versionis 3.9.6. Are you an object desktop customer? You can download the latest version thru stardock central.
The indicator continues to suggest that there are new comments even after I have viewd the new comments. It doesn't clear. Does anyone else have this problem?
eznoh In skin studio, if you're clicking on desktop-->classic taskbar, you're in the wrong section. In the left tree go to "taskbar"-->"taskbar button" . In the right tree in the fonts section, be sure to "add a new font" otherwise you will be changing the default font for the rest of the skin. Hope this helps
Koasati He had another thread going on this subject and I gave him the same info you did. Apparently he's not understanding, or something is not working right for him https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=186485#186659 [Message Edited]
Sounds like you've got your active desktop enabled. To disable it, right click on a blank spot on your desktop and click on properties from the menu. click on the "desktop" tab, then "customise desktop". On the "web' tab, uncheck any item that is checked and that will disable your active(live) desktop. To choose a wallpaper, go back to the desktop tab and choose the wallpaper you want then hit "apply" or "ok" This procedure is for winXP, but if you have another version of win, it should
Dreamdesign3d My guess on how to change the location of the cache files would be: Go to internet options and on the general tab under temp internet files click on settings and then move folder. Move the folder to "z" (ramdisk)
IPlural Thanks for the tip. Im trying out the free ramdrive now. Ill let you know what I think of it.
in skin studio find the following: left tree:taskbar--->task bar button horizontal(and or vertical) right tree:fonts Change the font to what you want. You can even change the colors and size. And you can do the same procedure for the quick lauch buttons. left tree:taskbar--->quicklauch buttons right tree:fonts you can only change the fonts on rhe start button by editing the start button image. Hope this helps <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.
If u have windowblinds you can change them in skin studio
Roxrox It may be easier for people to try to help you if you can take a screenshot of what you're talking about and upload it into your profile.
if you are referring to the menu that pops uo when you click on "all programs", you can change that to look like any thing you want by editing this: left tree- start panel--->menu. right tree: menu image. If you are referring to the color when you mouse over the "all programs" , you can change the color to match your all programs section by editing this. Left tree -miscellaneous--->colors right tree-menu highlighted background (xp only)
