I personally think the current version 1.09e is certainly fun and worth playing, that said some of the changes in 1.1 will change the game a lot for the better I think, so really it's up to you.

I very much like the idea of allowing a player to deploy his units in a deployment area before battle starts. Bigger battle fields is also a good idea, but it should scale to the size of the armies. I agree also with the idea of limiting archers ammo per battle, but I think that might be harder for them to put in.
Bindable shortcut keys are not in my opinion essential, but they are certainly a nice to have and shouldn't really be a huge effort to add. That said as a nice to have I don't think they should try to squeeze them into 1.1 at this stage, but they would certainly be welcome in a future patch.
Yes while this was pretty obvious to many of us I suspect it's because we use many PC applications in addition to games, and it's kind of obvious and a common symbol to someone who does. But of course someone who only games on their PC and isn't to familar with desktop applications might not see it the same way. Stardock make a lot of desktop stuff so this would have seemed natural to them.
It looks like it was caused by poor error trapping of the new code that sets the map size on when you load a map e.g. if it can't find a matching size it falls over rather than handling it gracefully.
All the listed changes sound highly positive to me at least in principle, the hard part will be in balancing it all correctly. Which is why I'm glad you aren;t rushing 1.1 too much. Mind you since I'm likley to become a father next week I may not have much time for playing for a while.
So you feel apathy towards Elemental but not to the degree that makes you too apathetic to want to share it with us. Not sure what the real point of your post is. You don't feel like playing elemental so you go do something else. This kind of reminds me of people on twitter who post things like; "Sleepy, had a sandwich, scratheched head". Always wonder wh
A quick question: when do you plan to solve the CTD problem has been experienced since release while entering map editor trying to make a tactical map?
Have you reported it in the support forum and provided the error files they need to investigate? If a particular crash has only been experienced by a few people, it's possible they don't know about it or that others have mentioned it but not provided the information needed to
Yes once initiative is in you can have all sorts of talents, spells and technology to boost it.
As a Win7 64 bit person, thanks [e digicons][/e]
So what we mean is...... Hurray, Hurray it`s a [Possible] patch day today!
It was a cosmetic issue. They looked ugly in game. We're still working on different ideas for how to make this look pretty and compatible with the modding system that allows user created tiles.
Thanks that's what I remembered you saying, I have to admit like one of the other posters I'd never really missed them. But actually some on this thread are right they could actually give bonuses to a city defence, trade, food, etc.
I came to the Stardock community via GC2, as a result of my extreme disappointment with how MOO3 turned out.
64 bit will be supported, it has been delayed because of HAVOK wanting to charge twice once for 32bit and again to allow stardock to use 64bit. But they always intended a 64 bit version, and when it does become available 64 bit impulse customers who bought Elemental will get it automaticly.
I agree some fallen heros would be nice it's a bit of an omission, not like they couldn't easily be modded in. I think stardock just forgot to be honest.
Yes it even tells you on the arcane research bar how many you are building per turn. So research and build buildings that help with arcane research or look for Lost temples to build on they supply a lot of arcane research points.
I think they where unhappy with the way rivers looked which is why the maps they supply don't have them...
Well 1.09 is only targeted for this week as far as I know, so I doubt 1.1 is about to be released.
Sorry I can't find a link to it right now, but I believe it was in a journal. It got taken out because they thought the random map generation was too slow to release at this point. Personally I would like them to release it as an option I don't really mind waiting for a random map to generate but then my gaiming goes back to waiting 5 minutes for a game to load from tape.
There is of course no point....you don't have to research it by the way. But I agree you shouldn't be able to. If you understand how they've done prerequisites though in the XML you'd see why you can.
Is this a joke post? Civ 5 has nowhere near the same number of crash issues that Elemental had. I can't believe you actually think otherwise. Do you not understand that whitewashing Elemental's release problems actually hurts this game?
I have no idea how many crash issues CIV 5 has had and I doubt you do either frankly, except maybe on your system. The fact is modern games engines are complex an
Right I see, yes it was and I agree it was silly to put it on the box because it does make the combat look more like RTS than turn based, which was changed mid-development. Guess they already printed the boxes. Substantially I've had a battle with about 10 units (many of them squad I think 10 men units basicly, plus a dragon and my soverign). The enemy fielded less but I have seen large armies fielded, the dragon does still look like that and have a fire breathing animation like
see I'm upsetting you. Please remember
Could you post the shot from the box or a link too it? I want to see what part of it is not achievable in the game at present, so I can judge we didn't all buy the boxed version. P.S. Quote seems not to be working properly for me at the moment as you can see.
One thing I've noticed is the bigger the map, the less fun it is for me. Tiny or small maps with a ton of AIs (I can get 2-4 cities before land is enclosed around me) puts a lot of pressure on you early on. One game I decided I would exploit : Tech right to spell9 and get mountain-creation. Than create a ring of mountains so the AI couldn't get into me. Once I started making mountains it became a fight for my life.&nb
