Sorry I really think you need to raise a support ticket, it's not a common issue so I think you need proper help from support who will want technical details of your system and dump files.

It all really depends on the rights holder and if they have any objections, your right though most of them won't complain about a free mod violating their IP. I doubt the BBC will mind this Mod kind of free advertising for their show. Frustrating though to put a lot of work into a mod knowing the rights holder could ask for you to stop at any time if they wanted to.
While a negative review can certainly be as valid as a positive one, the review system is not the place to post constructive criticism. The reviews are meant to inform other people about the game, not tell Stardock where it could improve (though those could overlap).
I completely agree, the forums are the place for constructive criticism generally. Reviews are indeed to help others decide if they would like the game i

I was going to say could be the images, I assume you've checked the dimensions and file type all of that already, sounds like you have. Check there isn't some slight typo either in the reference to the image in you XML files or in the actual file-name, then get someone else to check it to. After years of programming I can tell you I've sometimes spent ages looking at code until my head aches looking for the cause of odd behavior only to find in the end it&#3

It changes, depends who I'm fighting and what race I'm playing as, I try and produce ships for specific opponents where I can, though obviously I have to tailor tech picks too. I like to use thrusters for improved combat speed and long range weapons to get in the first Volley. I actually think they could do more to make the combat more complex, such has having ship with long range weapons try and keep out of their opponents range while firing.

drakkos137 I think we are never going to agree on most of this we are looking for different things from this game. I believe you are looking for a much simpler, smaller scale game with for examples few planets to manage. Try Moo2 or maybe ascendancy. GC3 is very much the descendant of GC2 and has more in common with that than GC1. O

I don't think it is over engineered, but them my favorite part of the game is designing ships putting them into fleets and letting them battle it out with my enemies, I'm a real conquest victory fan. On the other hand I think they really need to give planetary invasion more love in the future.

I think that will become more possible once steam workshop has been integrated and people are sharing custom races as if you choose a hundred player game it clearly can't make them all unique at the moment.
Come to think of it, Elemental was plagued with crap "choices" like that. So I guess the only thing that should surprise me is that Stardock hasn't learned their lesson.
I respectfully disagree that GC3 has the same sort of problems that Elemental had, but respect you right to hold that opinion or any other opinion you may hold. I do agree elemental had a lot of issues mostly around them trying to add to many c
But would a new player know this? Would they say "Oh, ideology. Well clearly, instead of all these fun choices that make the game more interesting, I'll pick this 'strategic' choice which should hopefully let me make some more choices in the future."
Well yes because to be honest I rarely pick them, as some of the others seem more immediately useful early on and it's been that way since they where n

I can see that, however i think it's wrong to lie in a review too as it's unfair to the people reading it and trying to decide if they will like the game. At the end of the day I gave it a positive review because I'm enjoying the game now and think it's very good despite some lingering issues. If I didn't think that I'd be more likely just not to review it at all than give it a negative review, because the more copies are sold no doubt the more time and effort will be

Though I don't agree on everything posted here I think this is a well though out and reasoned post. Stability is an interesting issue in PC games; I played for 4 hours yesterday (single player) on the beta and had one crash right at the end, that's as stable as any release game I've played recently earlier betas where not so stable for me. Now being a PC game I've no doubt at all stability is much worse with some other hardware\driver\OS\OS Patch combinations t

I think it's fair enough that people who don't think the game deserves a positive review don't give it one you have to be honest, luckily it does seem most of us do view the game positively. I did a review last night but didn't notice the % score typed a review and said I would recommend it, so going to check tonight where I put the % that may help more. At the moment I think I would give the game 85% since it's pretty good and a lot of fun but still has a few anno

The ideology buildings are not always the right pick depends on circumstances but can be useful. With plenty of planet to colonize you really don't need them.
So pirates are broken? Then they shouldn't be in this release (or at least they shouldn't be turned on by default in the release).
No pirates aren't in anyway broken you and the OP just don't like them, so we suggest turn them off

Oh, dear, oh dear, take some deep breath and try and relax, I'm sure you and your friend aren't the only ones with some bugbear or other with the game, doesn't mean your subjective opinions are right though; 1) If they had planets they would be minor civilizations not pirates, so the answer is simple turn them of and play with minor civilizations on and you have just what you want as minors can build ship yards and their resources are planet based. Your making a drama out
