A bit late again... Didn't have time to play another game, so I hope just this once (due to the error 16 problems) a submission based on endgame screenshots will be fine. Character: Prostatnic Vogon Jeltz Date: 11.10.07 (well, originally 2 weeks ago, but...) Type: Diplomatic Victory Difficulty: Normal Points: 4590 Years: 4 (the game DOES start in 2226, right?) I just realized... 4 years would be the quickest victory on that difficulty for me. <

I've joined as well. I had to submit the round 3 game with screenshots only because of the problem with the 1.7 beta (error 16 when posting to MV), is it okay if I submit another game under the same conditions with that character?

Resubmitting doesn't work. I'll wait and see if the next beta fixes this or if I need to start a new game.

Meh. I just finished my game, but the Metaverse gives me an error (16) when trying to post it. This is with the 1.7 beta 1. I'll try posting it again in a few days, hopefully it will be accepted then.

With Tech Trading, I'd have gone for an diplo victory. I'll resubmit soon, as I'm already well on my way to domination. Character - Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz Date - 12.09.07 Normal Years - 7 Race - Thalans Score 475 I hope this doesn't let my team down, but the move and everything happened within the last three weeks, not really predictable for me. <img src="htt

I know a deadline is a deadline, but if that deadline would be extended to the 16th (Sunday instead of Thursday), I'd be able to submit the game. This is of course a question for Neilo but my guess would be that the answer will be no. I'm sure most folks would like to cut you or anyone else in this kind of circumstance a break but then the ending of this round creeps into interfering with the start of the next

I'm currently trying my best to get the game in, but I'm pretty sure I'll not be able to make the deadline. The last week was packed with preparations for moving, and this week all the stuff has to be transported, kitchen be installed, furniture... etc. So basically, it's a bit more work than I anticipated. Of course, I could just resign now and submit a defeat, but I'd much rather submit

Given a 200mb download, a few screenshots also would be nice, as well as some more info. How do you get 11 playable races from the WC universe for example? Or minor races? What is 'dogfight'? What new techs? Also, paragraphs and full stops are your friends. Use them.

As a simple alternative, find a listing with all the planet names from the series you want and replace the stars.txt file. When you start a new game, these names should be used. Of course, the starting planet for the races are defined in the race-configs.

Visuals and animations are key part of any gameplay. That is the foundation from which you start building. No. You start with an in-depth gameplay and then add visuals to aid the player in making decisions. I wanted to write more, but most everything has already been said. There are far too few TBS games being released these days, I for one wouldn't buy a RTS, ever. The saddest part is in fact t

So that i can Build a cool ship before i get bored of hitting "TURN" over and over again Check out the 'Battle of the Gods' scenario. You start with all technology available, so you can design ships to your hearts content. Save the designs and you can use them in your normal sandbox games later, IIRC.

I always go with Lucky. Depending on galaxy size and gameplan, Speed comes in handy. Even if it seems expensive, you safe quite a lot of space and cost on your ships. And winning the colonisation race is much easier. If there are any points left, I usually put them into Economics or Morale. Having an economy that is stable is much more important IMO than a few more production points.

Should've been easy enough to check: After choosing 'campaign' in the main menu, you get a screen where you can select either the Dread Lords or the Dark Avatar campaign.

You think talking about the Nazis is horrible and wrong??? No, modding them as a "not evil, neutral at best" playable empire, displaying symbolism that is legally banned in several European countries is. (And with banned I don't mean an 18+ rating. They're illegal, period.) How is this different from the Drengin? The Nazi regime was real. Drengins aren't.

AI cannot win via diplomatic victory. You are in no danger. - Wyndstar Good to know. I always thought all victory conditions are available to the AI. So basically, the AI can win in any way EXCEPT diplomacy?

Even an unplayable race poses simple legal difficulties. Many WW2-era games have to be modified for the European market to make them legal. Even fictional ones like Wolfenstein. Historical simulations also aren't exempt from this, IL-2 (flight sim) has all swastikas removed from medals and emblems, both Finnish and German. There is no way to make a race AI only as far as I know, and the OP comment in the first post "it may not necessarily be evil..maybe neutral at best..." leaves me ver

Select the ship and right-click on the destination. Autopilot refers to any movement order, if it takes more than one turn to get there.
