I second Terraners criticism. Also, keep in mind that this mod probably will face difficulties being approved in the library: In several countries (Germany as the prime example), display of the Swastika is illegal. With offsite mods, no problem, but with the library, Stardock might want to stay on the safe side.

Also, the alphabet consists of a staggering 26 letters. Try to use them all, it's fun!
Although, in theory, it should be possible. The files that make up a ship design are plain text, so they ARE editable outside of the game. With "Battle of the Gods" available, however, I don't think anybody would spend their time programming such a tool.
Midnight on the 13th as per this forum, which is EST of the U.S.A. I thought it best to just have the time frame the same as the board. EST is what, in relation to GMT? Personally, I'd prefer the next round to be based on GMT. Checking local time against GMT is easy, whereas I have to log in to see the forum time (or remember yet another time zone).
Terraforming just changes yellow, orange and red squares into green ones, on which you can then place other buildings. There is no 'Terraforming' building that stays behind.
Since FRAPS isn't freeware, I thought I'd add X-Shot to the list as well. Free and supports different formats.
Games are to be submitted by midnight on the 13th August. Uh. Midnight where? I assumed GMT, which is the easiest to check against.
Meh. Not only did it take me nearly a month and several tries, but still I have to post a defeat. Tech Victory simply doesn't suit my style of play. Nevertheless, I got up to Deeper Understanding, before suffering a Cultural Defeat at the hands of the Terrans. The worst part is that I saw it coming. I already had troop transports enroute to a three-planet minor in a last ditch effort to gain some galactic influence back. The Terrans would have never been so aggressive
Get DOSBox, XCom and Terror From The Depp run perfectly on that. And personally I think that the original XCom is still one of the best (if not the best) TBS game ever made.
Hm. Then I'll redownload. 20 turns simply is too short to form any opinion about the game, especially the AI. It wasn't clear in your reply, is the game fixed at 1024x768, or is that just a limitation of the demo?
In any case, since I am in Europe, I always use the following URL https://forums.galciv2.com/?g=recent to get the recent posts when I connect the morning. Is there another way? I also always use the one you mentioned, so I don't quite see why a few OT threads are so bad.
I just played the demo, and it looks nice enough. Does the full game come with a hotseat mode? And, most importantly, with the ability to select a screen resolution? The low res of the demo really hurts my eyes, plus it stays on that resolution when alt-tabbing out of the game.
"Join gamespy", as what? Developer, webartist, marketing, community support, administration, independant game developer, existing company, startup company, player, player community, ...? Nationality, age, experience, diplomas, degrees, ...? I'd say first step would be to formulate a concise question.
Glad I could be of assistance. I understand your point, but a lot of people come here not only for news about the game but also to just communicate with like-minded others. That's what the OT is for, and they will want to see the new posts without having to sort through the OT forum manually. Maybe a compromise can be reached with a kind of subscription system? Each user would be able t
What was your last moment when you thought "Damn, I was so lucky that..."? Personally, just an hour ago, riding my bicycle. I was doing about 60 kph, approaching a corner. I brake and *poof* goes the front tyre. It was pure luck that I managed to correct and keep the bike going, so when the front wheel decided to not stay upright any more I was only doing 20 kph. The result: Tyre's gone, I've got a bloody and bruised elbow and hip. Hopefully the rim didn't suffer, I just
Depends. If you download at the right time, it should be pretty fast. I have a 6 MBit connection, and I get the full speed from Stardock servers.
AFAIK not all techs are available in the campaign. As you progress through the mission, you can research farther up the tech tree.
Ok, it seems that even without the activation email my account is active. So, I'm all set here.
I just registered there, but so far I'm still waiting for the activation e-mail.
Also, right-clicking on the notification launches the ship in question. Troop transports and colony ships get loaded as well.
Especially 512 MB of RAM is very little. Stocking up to 1 GB should help somewhat.
Greeting fellow Team Aers (boy we need a name). *ahem* 'The A-Team'? Seems to me that Tech victory would be a perfect reason to start trying that all-labs strategy. I haven't read anything about it, but I suppose AIs will be random opponents. With a bit of luck and some diplomacy, it should be doable. At least at my c
... or just scale the trade route limit according to galaxy size / planet count.
They are working on 1.7, which will include a LOT of changes. Also, frogboy was on a (well deserved) vacation. I don't think GC2 will 'die' any time soon.
How do you both have the exact same character? We both used the same name, just with different spellings . Prostetnik Vogon Jeltz/Prostentic Vogon Jeltz Actually I misspelled in my post. Prostetnic is the character.
