To my experience you have to know the game, before you start to plan your way down the tech tree (Oh, I want to win by casting an ultimate spell that gives me unlimited power, I click on that thing and then let technology run).
Ok so I'm glad to know theres a few of

Back in 1999, a friend of mine was visiting my house. Total babe. She decided that she wanted to play a computer game; civilization 2, specifically, my favorite game. So I sat her down and got her on the computer and set her loose. She had a good ol' time, playing for about 30 - 45 minutes--- before dying. Big game over screen. "How on earth did that happen? I didn't think it was possible to actually lose!" Turns out that what she was do

I'm thiosk, i'll be finishing my phD in chemistry in 2 months. Yesterday, I exploded mercury alloys to make awesome new materials for "solar power" or whatever it takes to get the grant funding agencies to support mercury explosions. I'd be happy to come aboard as a design consultant to stand on a soap box and list off everything I love and hate about 4x games, and why you should totally listen to me for galciv3. Seriously. I'll do it. You'll love me. &

Pestilence didn't make the cut. Too bad! I should point out that when I designed the spell, cursing enemy lands was really the afterthought. I consider the most useful part of the spell to be army interdiction-- plopping a pile of pestilence on an enemy army will slow their march for several turns, but doing so close to your own cities is troublesome for potentially weakening your own production.

Hello Everyone! I've played a bit of Elemental (bought at launch) but I've been a tad too busy writing and working to spend much time with it. Que sera sera, thats what getting old is all about, I suppose. One thing that seems strange to me is the way the adventuring tree works. Your science nerds spend all their time learning what heros and champions are, and their work results in stronger monsters in the countryside. </p

I currently consider magic to be the weakest overall part of the game. I look forward to changes in this area! Cheers This, this support, this is why i buy stardock games-- whether I play them or not. (i bought sins mostly because i love space games, but didn't really get into the rts concept much)

No technical problems with the game. Works great, fast, clean, no problem whatsoever. However, I don't really... get it. The following is nonderogatory, i swear. So far it has played like a messy gal civ 2, but with semiglobal magic and these weird heros-that-aren't-exactly-usually-heroic. I'm having a huge problem properly balancing my game development, so I wanted a couple broad-stroke kind of tips. 1. How many hero folks

I got some hate for my post, hahaha! Seriously, mark my words: Every single patch made on this game is going to have people exploding on this forum claiming this is broken, that is broken, this is now OP, that is a criminal, undocumented change. There will be one for 1.04, 1.05, people will claim that the developers are ignoring\laughing\spiteing their requests\demands and catering to the casual\competitive\power gamers because they are too lazy\stupid\greedy to do exa

"Our Enimas Stand Ready!" Man, if I realized I was about to get an enima-- bad enough right-- and realized the injectible could "stand..." man, i'll tell you what, i'd be moving so fast you'd think i'd figured out phasejumping in a grav well. At least we know why the advent ladies eyes are always so bugged out

if i wanted to do massive multiplayer online gaming, i'd go back to world of warcrack. I think i'll stick to massivly single player gaming for the time being. Launch fighters! Seige frigates approach!

Artifacts should be handled... differently. The ones i've found are great! But, it seems something is missing. I know its passe and everybody and their mum wants a deathstar, but an artifact should be a center-of-the-empire-extremely-valuable-megaawesome-thing-that-must-be-protected, and not a box in a window.

Oh i just thought of something I want. Space monsters!!! Why has no one done this one since moo? You colonize some asteroid and oops! Giant space worm busts out and starts attempting to mate with all your capital ships. Retreat!

Zaza, you seem to be turning sins into world of warcraft with your point on speccing. While interesting, if I was an interstellar empire, researching lasers wouldn't generally stop me from researching something else. Spec games would be a great mod but not general gameplay changes.

The list of options you presented are pretty much what we're looking for for this patch. Players must remember its 1.03, not 1.1 or 2.0! For surrendering players: I would like "Vassal States" or some form of slavery\subjugation. They sit there, they orbit stars, they build ships, they don't expand and they cannot attack you. They share your diplomacy, you get vision of their systems\ships, and you get a modest percentage of their credit\resource production each

I guarantee: this will be improved in expansions. When you do a game, you can try to do everything--- master of orion 3--- and end up with crap. Or, you can do a game-- listen to the users-- and rebuild it, releasing three expansions and double the original cash money you made on the game in the first place, and at the same time make all your customers giddy over the improvements. That is my prediction for what will happen here. I know ill buy expansions.

I've played a lot of 4x strategy games in my day. I remember ripping the plastic off the original master of orion 3 and 1\4" floppies-- or was it a kind of papyrus? Details, details. Anyway, I'm really digging sins. Lets face it though, I am really having a hard time coming up with a 4x game where I feel less connected to the inhabitants of one of my planets. In the original MoO, you sent hundreds of millions... even the women and children... (especially the women and c
