Simplest solution, reinstall Stardock Central, request your serial numbers (Sins should be among them) and download Sins retail. :) But i thought the beta was only accesible if you pre-ordered? Anyway, once you're done downloading be sure to hit the ingame "download updates" button, since all pre-orders count as digital Collectors Editions. :)

Also don't rule out HW:Cataclysm, while it made quite a significant deviation from the HW1 and HW2 storylines its a great game to play and the Beast are interesting opponents. And the story is quite good too. Its essentially a Stand-alone Expansion sort of idea that Relic is doing more often these days with games like Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. Cataclysm was published by Sierra btw. I can recommend HW2 also, good storyline, fun gameplay. I own all 3, and play each from
When doing a long range jump, is there limits to what Star you can jump to?
None i've discovered sofar. Any Star gravity well to any other Star gravity well.
-Add a button for scuttle. I had to find it in the key bindings.
That already is in the game. Select the object that needs to go poof, hit the orange striped bar in the bottom centre of its "portrait" on the interface.
Can't advent just upgrade their armor and hp, and go for the armored cap ships against vasari? :3 The lasers and beams on the first advent cap ship are insane and it drains am, gains am from receiving damage.
Even fully armored Advent ships have less actual armor HP than a Vasari vessel, and while they can take out the enemies AM supplies very quickly, that won't stop the Desolater from pounding its target with phase miss
both codes should work :) I'm using the ones SD sent me in the mail for GalCiv2 and Dark Avatar too, but those on my CD-box are different ones. both are valid :)
the TEC is excellent at maintaining a war of attrition, their far stronger economy (providing you put some research into it) means they can rebuild far quicker. Also they'll probably end up getting higher fleet cap sooner because of their increased resources
Jhessick, just on a side note, you do realise that with 20 guardians with generators active most ships have about 40,000 shield hitpoints to which they can transfer damage before the extra mitigation starts failing. Sure you can punch through the shields by downright ignoring the shields but you can't cut down the mitigation in a meaningful way. Even focussing on the Iconus won't help much, each ship has 2000 shields with an added layer of 38,000 HP worth of partial damage mitigation buffer
That "Cloud of Doom" as you call it are all the Iconus Guardians deploying their shield-mitigation generators. Those are the shield bubbles of those ships. When you stack 20-30 of them on top of each other they basically go completely opaque making observation impossible.
2) A capital ship with an ion cannon, capable of great damage. This ship would be huge and slow, but with this powerful weapon. The balance would be guaranteed by high cooldown time and by the fact that only one cannon ship could be built per player
Aside from the Radiance, i don't think we need to turn this game into a Homeworld clone, SSE is its own game and lets please keep it there. :) As for the more dynamic bat
Don't forget one of their Cap Ships (Vasari) has a Phase ability. Phase Missiles mixed with Phasing out the dude that makes attackers take 33% damage and you can own.
However you are unlikely to be able to pull that one off against an AI player. Last night its largest fleet showed up on my doorstep with over 20 Guardians, while the damage reduction doesn't stack, it does appear spread to all guardians in range meaning i
in thing i'm missing from those few days i had the chance to play beta 4 is the culture level display in a planets infocard. You can't see the cultural saturation level now (friendly or enemy) while you were able to in the beta. . I really liked that function, gave a nice idea of how effective your culture structures were in a given area. It also made the allegiance worlds have a little clearer. People understand the -10% per jump from the homeworld bit, but not that the Culture Centers can
i just cant do it, i know its the third tab under upgrades, but when i click it , i get require one point in basic provisioning, whats that? thanks
Basic Provisioning is the first fleet capacity upgrade available for the TEC. Remember, you upgrade sequentially, i'm guessing you clicked a higher one, which can't be researched since you haven't done the first.
You might, who knows, they'd make ideal Advent Boarding parties, especially against the all male TEC. ;)
Elysion i'm afraid the Bolter-babes are reserved for a different IP. ;)
Strange question then, what Logitech mouse are you using? Since my own G5 does have a SetPoint addition for program specific mouse button and sensitivity settings. Or does the mouse itself have variable sensitivity? Then you could just switch it down a gear when you start Sins.
Who was saying females can't drive? The men here just derailed this thread completely. :P (yes, i'm male too)
Well... then I guess the males in the advent are needed for one purpose only.... wink wink notch notch eh govner, you know what im saying? wink wink notch notch
 that and reactor maintenance. :P
If i read the manual and its short synopsis of the history of the Advent correctly then the most power psionic talents are all female. And since the Advent fleet is almost exclusively based around psychic abilities and psychic links to ships and strikecraft it would make a great deal of sense that most of their naval personal is infact female, because those have the talents needed to use their psi-tech.
Sorry for double posting... BTW- What is defragmentation... I know that fragrance is a sort of granade that has a big explosion and is designed to so a lot of shrapnel damage.... I don't think defragmentation has anything to do with fragrance... Does it?
not fragrance (since
Use program specific settings? I mean if you have a mouse with that kind of performance, its bound to have profiling software. Or a number of settings to switch to on the fly.
You always have to research long-range jumps.
No you don't, on a single star map you won't need the research for example.
I just bought the collectors edition digital only. How do I download the extra content? Thanks!
Click download updates from the ingame main menu. :) that will take you to the download location. The bonus pack isn't required (its included in the download already) the other 2 items are CE content. @Judas: There are two beautiful advertisment posters in the CE content zipfiles aswell. :)
One little comment though, as far as i know an Xbox 360 will accept a USB mouse and keyboard without issues, sure its cheating, but you forget that the software on an Xbox is nothing more than a stripped out version of windows. :D
To defragment your harddisk open "my computer" and right-click on the harddisk, then go to the "extra" tab, there are 2 buttons there, one to check the disk for errors and one to defragment the harddisk, run the defragment program and tell it to analyse the harddisk. That will check how bad the fragmentation is and will let you know wether or not defragmenting is needed. When that is done, i recommend doing the harddisk check aswell, never know if it finds something or not. :)
