It worked! I installed new drivers and unchecked the box, and it's all working now. Thanks for everyone's help!
Someone took my nickname
*This problem is now solved, thanks everyone.* I just installed the new version of Dark Avatar, and this is happening to me: As you can see, the ships are refusing to draw textures. For some reason, this also creates a lot of slowdown. I've tried running 3d-Analyze, under several configurations, to no avail. Not being very graphics-savvy, though, I was wondering if any of the more experienced folks on the
Did my designs look similar to someone else's? Because I made them all on my own (that's why they suck compared to the other ones on here, except for the Aquarius). Or are you commenting on the fact that I was playing as the Terrans with the Drengin style and color scheme? That's because you can only playas the Terrans in Battle of the Gods. Midnight, I like your noncombat ships especially, although the Terran insignias do look a bit out of place. I can never get the hang of building la
The final member of our fleet, the Aldebaran. The Aldebaran uses our advanced engineering technology to support the second-largest hull in the fleet. This new size of hull we have codenamed "large". The Aldebaran - for when you can't quite afford a Huge ship. An ensemble photo for size comparison. From left to right: an Aires, Cygnus, Arcturus, Aquarius and Aldebara
OK, here's the file. Sorry to be such a noob about this. This file contains only the not-drawing-textures bug, as I couldn't get the other one to happen. I also discovered that if I minimize the window, when I bring it back up the ships will draw textures briefly. EDIT: I now have a short excerpt from the end of a log in which the game closed below this one. Since the log was quite long I will only post the final few lines. Debug Message: Version v1.50x3 Dark Avatar last updat
Your wish shall be granted. I present to you... the Rigel, the Cygnus, the Aires, and the Arcturus! The Rigel, a scout-class ship. I'm proud of the sensor array in back. The Cygnus, a light fighter. The Aires, a heavy fighter. The Arcturus,
Hi! I just got the game last weekend and was immediately intrigued by the ship builder. For me, the challenge is not just to make nice-looking ships, but to make them simple enough that they won't give my computer problems. This is I feel my best design so far, although it's not nearly as good as any of these. It also succeeds reasonably well in the simplicity department since I only ever expect to have one in existence (it cost me nearly my whole treasury in a Battle of the Gods gam
Gack! I meant Dark Avatar, not Dread Lords. I wish the names weren't so similar... How do I edit?
I just got my copy of the Gold Edition a few days ago. In the first game I started,I noticed that the ships had no textures. I simply ignored the bug and kept playing. However, once I got reasonably far in the scenario, the game simply exited to the desktop, and gave me a popup saying "GalCiv 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close..." This bug has occurred in every game I have played so far once I got to a reasonably advanced stage. Does anyone know what's happened? Oh, and the
