I would think it has to do something with the time that it might take to build a ship plan, and then actually deploy it.
exactly. go into galciv, and design a ship with a stopwatch on. you will most likely be very surprised.
I tend to like the advent carrier and battleship fleet, so my technique is a bit different. I try to guess the enemy's escape route and place my long range ships where they can hit them for as long as possible without eating too much lead, use my light frigates to pound on their flaks to give my bombers clear skies while the flaks pound on their fighters and bombers, then pound their caps with everything I've got. I like to leave my carrier in mid-long range to take advantage of it's abilities a
advent. massive sweetness from the carrier and the gorgeousest ships. And I have the same mouse too. Oh, and the advent voice is all kinds of amazing when you're attacking.
read the full review, it's worth it. The editor is obviously a convert to sinning, and in a hip deep pool of his own drool.
I don't have any funny experiences, but that's because I generally wait till i have 40+ frigates and 2 or more caps, and generally know how to wipe the floor with that fleet. Best thing that happened in one of my games was following the second pirate attack on a guy who had no idea who I was or that I was coming with the combined fleet of an ally and me in the early game. He was eviscerated, and even though he immediately tried to get his flagship out, it was hurting badly and had no chance. He
It is. It's absolutely epic.
The advent carrier is amazing. squads of up to ten fighters, a boost to the cooldown of all nearby ships, loads more fighters as an ability, and surprisingly good power for the early game.
I think the devs said that they'd add the campaign in the expansion after they made the sandbox as good as they could, and the modability is already there, they just need to release the tools so we can get the files out of binary.
just so you guys know, i live in the us and had the same problems, so it's just the server. If you want to run a server, you should look up The_Monk's guide post he wrote, his hosted games have consistently been awesome, even when I was being rejected by every other server out there. Here's a link: [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408"]WWW Link[/link] And here's the essentials for hosting: Ports that need forwarding for SINS (cli
great io cant seem to edit my post so now i have to double post has anyone else seen this happen with other units or at all let me know thanks
Battlefleet Gothic'll have movement for at least one race, and hopefully we'll get the inertia working properly. There'll be more focus on tactical maneuver and more larger ships with a feeling of inertia.
monk, gotta say this again. You rock! Thanks for hosting the games even when you couldn't play.
steam = noobs
in any case I have a question: why are all the advent fighters and bombers a solid turqoise color? shouldnt they have, oh I dont know, parts?
i think the reasoning is that they're expendable drones made by psytech, so it's the easiest way to make them.
you wanna see the replay? it's kinda long though because once frogboy surrendered, we just started messing around with the superweapons. It was a really fun game even though we mostly won by attrition, and I spammed "OMG (Insert Feature Here) is awesome *fanboy drool*" Oh, and the monk officially rules for hosting the game even though he couldn't play and his planets got owned.
you've got team colors on, you can turn them off in the ui options pane well, looks like kryo got here first
kosc, you have the pink space pony achievement! How?
i love the stuff i've seen, especially that game against you :HOT:
ah, oh, sorry. can't wait till we get more forge tools so i can work on getting the ships together.
does beating dragunol and a noob in a 2v2 count as beating a dev? Oh, and p.s. the advent rule, so that's not much of a handicap.

yeah, i understand that. i had one hell of a time writing a parser that wouldn't hold a candle to yours, and it was hideously inefficient.
i'd love to see a 'historical battles' section, where you're given a relatively developed position and have to win with that, and the possibilites for more achievements if you beat certain criteria.
the advent are the coolest thing ever! they look sweet, they play sweet, and their voicework is sweet
keep that in singleplayer, please
