Great post. Someone brought up a level based component to the damage spells, and I think that could work really well. Like fireball 1 hitting for 100 damage +20 per level then 200 +30/level etc. We don't need % based damage spells because then health would mean nothing against a spellcaster. I agree that the Oak and Erebus are overpowered right now, they're meant to be weaker 1v1 characters (and I mean 1v1, not 1v1+vampires/spirits) but right now they can totally o
So what you are trying to say is you want "demigod behavior" customization, simple: Passive (attack only when command issued) Neutral (attack what is next to you, but don't go out of your way to attack unless command given) Aggressive (attack anything you see). Also persuit level (how far a demigod will travel without a command given): Standing: no persuit 50%:&nb
Favor points are based on achievements I think, winning is an achievement, but nothing else. Maybe your kill/death ratio plays a part as well.
Why couldn`t Stardock get this one? I love SupCom. I really have no interest in Demi-God. It`s just personal preference. I`m glad that there is a sequel comming.
I'm not sure but I think THQ has the IP of SupCom, not GPG. Edit: Oh just read on the GPG forum that Square enix bought the IP.
How about giving War Score for destroying enemy buildings, and giving some instant War Score for capturing an enemy flag (the amount could be based on the time elapsed), not just for holding it. That way a skilled team could turn the tide of a losing battle by a well organized offensive.
I'd love to help test it out [e digicons]:)[/e] , the first team should focus on creeps the second on making their Demigods own, it could be interesting.
Are secretly part of there marketing team?
No I just want the game to be successful not an "avarage 10 players online" game.
COMPETITION = ENTERTAINMENT
For 30% of the players yes this is true, for 70% no it's not. And yet I'm not a casual player, I've been playing RTS games since Total Annihilation came out, I remember the first versions of Defense of the Ancients. But what you do not realise is that DotA is a freeware game, sure
DotA didn't become so popular because it was made to be competative, it became popular because it was entertaining and you could just hop in a game and enjoy it without much brainwork. Then it became competative because it was popular. That's why I said that Demigod first needs to be entertaining then it can be competative. I'm not against competition, I'm just trying to show you why DotA is still being played. It's just like with WoW, WoW didn't become so popu
Ok I'm in, I usually play around 20:00 GMT+1. Just to test this I'll buy items from early on and only when my item slots are full will I start to upgrade my creeps. To be honest I am curious what will happen.
Yes gold is just a placeholder for the citadel upgrades, gold will be used to buy items and another currency will be used to buy the citadel upgrades. But again I disagree with the creeps dominating the game, put a TB or Erebus against those creeps and soon you'll realise they go down in a matter of seconds with little to no damage to the Demigods. It's just that some of them are better creep killers some are worse. Once you have like 200%-300% mana regen you'll be able
The thing is every game could be a "competative" game, it's not about how "competative" a game is, but how popular it is. Every AoS style map (from Warcraft3) could be played just as competatively as Dota. The masses just picked Dota and soon it became what it is today. I agree with you on the catapult stuff, you really need those, but saying "the players have no direct impact on the game at all" is completely stupid, early game you should try to level as fast as you can gather as
The level based component sounds great, it would solve every scaling problem and cause no harm to the balance, I'm all for it!
Hehe, yeah Regulus seems like the anti-caster (hunters in wow), I played against a nightmare AI Regulus, me being Torchbearer, even though it was an AI I could barely win. I also noticed there are some late game items you must have to win a game that last more then 30-45 minutes, like the silencing axe you mentioned, the speed cloak, and the Unmaker (+100% damage for 5 or 10 seconds). Most of these problems could be solved by making +spelldamage items, or making spells s
Same here, I think it's a general Beta 2 problem.
I don't know if any of you have noticed, or if this was present in beta 1 (I never checked), I noticed in Demigod's fodler there's a movies folder. Full of prerendered movies, victory movies etc. Check it out! Though it requires bink video player, but that's a freeware software (I linked it).
Ya, tofi. You're right, though its called AoS. Aeon of Strife. Good map type.
My bad, thanks for the correction :) I'm pretty sure this type of game will get much, much more attention in the near future, might even reach the popularity of RTS.
Yet none of you Defense of the Ancients fans realise that DotA is an AoE ripoff which was around 2 months after War3 launched. So even if you're a huge DotA fan you should know that DotA was never an original game. Saying Demigod is a DotA ripoff is like saying Rise of legends is a Warcraft 3 ripoff becaue they're both RTS. I like to call Demigod and DotA an AoE style game because that was the first game that played like this as much as I know. (though I could be wrong here)
