Did you complete the arena quest? Whenever I complete that the game runs fine for a few turns then crashes, and the savegames don't load, but only those after the quest, the ones before load up just fine.

I can confirm this, happens to me every time, even if there isn't a shrine built on the shard (any shard). By the way, why can't we corrupt life shards?
Wait what? You made a Starcraft expansion? :O
I can't wait to try this, I love the MoM style population. If I may, I'd like to recommend some features: We'd need a city management tab, or screen, if my memory serves me right this was missing in MoM, but it's a part of Master of Orion II. I'm thinking about a screen where you can see every city with their population "units" and easily rearrange them, so if you lack 1 food unit for your military, you don'
But the good framerate on exile has to do with the static background right? As I mentioned in this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/346289 I'm getting much better FPS on the maps with non-3D background (Crucible is the worst for me, even though it's a small map). So it isn't due to my configuration or drivers right?
Did anyone notice how the beta 1-2 maps are slower (in performance/fps) than the newer ones? I mean the maps Cataract, Zikurat, Crucible eat more memory or processing power than Prison and Leviathan, and a lot more than Exile, Mandala, The Brothers, even though the later 3 are the bigger maps of the 8. I'm running on 1600X1024, everything on high (because on 1920X1200 the former 3 are unplayable, and only the last 3 are enjoyable (24-25 FPS)), I don't know if it's related to t
Well the two aren't supposed to be the same... There are loads of stuff in DotA that isn't in Demigod, and as such there are lot's of stuff in Demigod that's missing from DotA. And I'm not sure if the feature of "ganking" a player without them being able to escape or respond is a good thing. (For example: Rook hidden somewhere, stunning you with boulder roll then hammer slam, you're pretty much dead early game as a Torchbearer, and can't really counter it if you can't see
I don't know if this is the right place to ask...I'm having some troubles with my PC, unexplainable slowdowns and such. My real question is, anyone know a program that could tell me what's the cause of the slowdowns, for example where 1.4GB of my RAM goes, the taskbar only show about 400GB? For another example I think Demigod should work flawlessly on my PC (I might be too naive), but it runs at 13-18 FPS with a resolution of 1920x1200 everything on high and 4X
Not that cheesy, it's just a portable crystal of health, you can't really use it in combat, but you can use it to remain longer around the front line without the need to port back every time you run out of health/mana. The 4200 cost is just right. But as you mentioned, something's wrong with it...my bet is your second thought "Regen doesn't take into account mana used while the heart is activated."
Well then snipe should work just like that, with a maximum range...but wait...the further you run from snipe the more damage you get. So these are the alternatives: 1: Torchbearer's fireball has a maximum range, but then it would need a normal range or damage increase (the damage is already quite good). And Regulus' snipe doesn't have a maximum range...then you could bring up your argument that it isn't fair. 2: Both of them get a maximum range, but then fireball and snipe wou
Well Stardock said no port forwarding is required, because of Impulse. But it's still a beta, not everything is working as intended.
No vius, a comic :)
That's not too good :( but now that you mention it they did say no port forwarding is required with impulse...hopefully the devs can identify the problem with the log. The other thing you could try (if you haven't tried it already) is to verify your install of demigod in impulse (right click the demigod icon in impulse, it'll be on the list), hope you'll be able to join multiplayer games soon!
Sorry for the double post, I think I figured it out, it's not because configurations or background programs, but connection problems. I'm using another connection now (linksys router, no ports opened or anything), no crash yet. The other router was an SMC (I don't recall it's name, I'll check once I'm back there) without opened ports as well. Be sure to check your opened ports (6073 is a must I think and some others as well, a dev could help in this). I hope t
Oh wow, I didn't expect that...totally different configurations. Maybe programs running in the background? I'm running: -Windows Live Messenger -Daemontools -Lightscribe Control Panel -Checkmail -Asus live update -Direct Console Even though I tried to disable all of them and Demigod still crashed, it might help a little. I'll try to reinstall Demigod now, that might help.
I've uploaded my dxdiag, check for similarities, or upload yours and I'll check it, we might find out the cause of this. (I couldn't find how to upload files to this forum, so uploaded it to rapidshare) Here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/201299973/DxDiag.txt
I love his new voice! "The weather outside...is frightful" "Smells like bacon!" "How would you like yours? Well-done...or a little pink?" And of course the insane screams. I love it! [e digicons]\o/[/e]
Strange our logs look kinda the same (mine's in this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/340502 2nd post) yet I can add AIs but can't stay at the hosting screen for more than 10 seconds (or else it'll crash). This makes it impossible to play against anyone.
I get this error 10 seconds after hosting a game, if I start the game fast enough everything is fine and this error doesn't show up. Never had this in previous betas. ________________________________________________________________________ EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0x1005eca9 attempted to read memory at 0x64e7a3c3 Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd lin
So umm: Forces of Light: Regulus, Rook, Sedna, Oak Forces of Darkness: Beast, Vampire Lord, Queen of Thorns, TorchBearer Or so I guess...
This would be great, but I don't think the engine could handle it.
ALT + right click is Attack move I think.
My tip is that the ranged spells and ranged attacks are calculated by the outline of a circle around the demigod to the circle of the enemy demigod, that way when the 2 circles overlap it bugs up.
Yeah I noticed this too, don't know if it's intentional, and when enemy demigods teleport right on top of the TB he freezes can't even cast any spells or such, the only way to fix it is to move him.
And I think it says "hosting on port 0" in the chat window, which is rather strange.
