But if there are AI players , which PC is the one that is doing the AI calculations?
Ah yes, thats the danger of modding, you get so detached from playing the original game. Only hope is if this mod becomes so popular that being skilled at that mod is worth it.
Oh how I love generalizations like "nobody". Whether you like Gamespot or not, tons of people use it.
This is true. Gamespot is one of the most used sites that it is important for Sins to get a good mark on it. Heck I use it because it dedicates forums to each game ,and its a pretty good resource for screenshots and videos. the two other place it needs high marks on is PC Gamer
Lol , I find this worrying trend when I now log on to Sins. Often im the mute type. I just join a game , play it , win or lose , then exhange "ggs" . No need for lifestories , a/s/l . Ill go into tactics and strat talk , but nothing that doesnt relate to the game. but it seems many games nowadays are hosting slots for friends only. at first I thought ,ok thats fine - Maybe its John102 hosting a game for Bob345 who he knows in real life. But now im seeing people host 10
The "real" Bad - Its not a franchise that adds millions of hits to the site - Its not on a console - Its not made by EA or Ubisoft - Stardock isnt loading our pockets with advertising $$$
Ha , im kinda embarrased at [link="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bov9M2gEgcE"]ours[/link] :P
"Look at it this way - Interceptors do 4 times as much damage against Bombers, LRM Frigates and Siege Frigates as Bombers do" I think I just figured out the best way to stop the rampaging Siege Frigates.... SamF7
wouldnt it be difficult for the fighter to break through the shields ? or are these damage bonuses related to shields also.
Tbh , all things are solved if the ICO allowed onboard filesharing so that anyone who has joined a "savegame" , can get the savegame uploaded to them by the host. And it should also allow people to replace others.
Soase is more fun online then sots.
Gamespot , IGN , 1up , PC Gamer , CvG , Edge Those are the Big Boys when it comes to reviews. I might have missed a few out
Cool it guys, it's called an opinion. He thought he might help make the game better by telling them to increase it's speed.
OP said "it's over once IGN reviews it" Thats not Opinion. Thats Taking the Piss :P
I like the game alot and dont mind joining games , but I do also like to host like I used to in Beta4. People often underestimate the joys of fast 2v2 team games on Kronocs ;) and im here to host em. Just wondering if theres been a change to networking protocols/code in Sins , or if maybe ive done something to my connection that has caused it not to be able to use its uPnP in the release. Are others in the same boat too? ps- I have to rely on uPnP because im not allowed to acce
Uhh, because when fighting two AI's, you can rarely attack both in strength to get to their home production planet and kill a fleet of siege frigates that tank like heavy cruisers before you are taken out.
playing against 2 opponents , sure that isnt the problem lol?
Well, they're built into the maps themselves, so a toggle wouldn't work with the current system since they can't just be attached/detached to a map. If nobody else gets around to it, it's probably very possible to take them out of the current default maps, I'll fiddle with the Galaxy Forge tonight and see.
The timer isnt part of the galaxy file. So the toggle could just make the timer infinite , so pirates never come.
Christ have all of you come from Supreme Commander :SURPRISED: ... Radeon X200 64mb shared mem Celeron 1.6ghz M420 1 gig ram 1024x768 res , no AA All Low Settings All effects off Stutters a bit in 8 player , but I stay a tiny bit zoomed out ;).
I was really under-impressed with the graphics. While they are not bad, they are far from "pretty". The ships models look neat, but there is no eye candy at all. With a space game it seems you can crank up ship models/details since the background of "Space" is pretty barren. Think X-3 Reunion. Pretty game great shadows...even just looking at space stations or plants was a treat. Even in a system that had 1k+ asteriods, planets, ships, factories in it etc.
I think it
I think the idea is that the game wants you to also think about using Fleets defensively. You cant just send all your ships gung-ho in attack as your defences can only repel small attacks.
I think it just comes inside the game folder , or atleast mine did
Bingo! But 99 has filled up too :) I think there should be some way of telling which Lobbies are filling.
I got put into "Lobby - 99" and saw only 4 people online. Which lobby are people in? I tried Lobby 1 , but thats empty.
My laptop is very similar. It also have your video card. You can play Sins. I would stick to 6 or less players on small maps. Everything is on Low tho , no effects and 1024 resolution. Framerates around 20-30fps. In battles it can get as low as 12-15 tho.
who wants to do some beta 4 game testing? ill send in the mini-dumps! we can even do some Vasari-tec balancing! *now thats cringe worthy torture*
