Alpha Centauri was ace because the different ideologies made for such completely different gameplay styles, and I never even bought the expansion. What happens to them when they're destroyed, then? Do they just respawn after a certain amount of time? I'm guessing that's the case, as I don't think I've ever lost the ability to construct around planets...

I'd also like to compliment Stardock's tremendous download speeds, again from the UK. Assumed I wouldn't be able to play until today! Incredible. I'm cursing my degree for forcing me towards lectures right now.
