Oh no !!! We need at lest 12 Demigods(10+2 in order to let enough choice for the last player) at release to have enough variety in characters selection for 5v5 games. With less Demigods, boosterpacks will be in my opinion, only a cut of the game to make money(that's not usually the politic of Stardock). Otherwise, booster packs seems to be a good idea even if I will probably buy a bundle.

Val'Thesh sounds pretty cool, kind of Vlad Teppes(Dracula). Or maybe Strigoi the Bleeder. Anyway you have my vote for : Vazma the Devourer and Count Nukekubi
Maybe I am missing something here, but how is Impulse that different from the DRM in MassEffect?
You missing something : I installed Sins 1.0 on my laptop only with the DVD(I couldn't connect it to the internet). No activation through internet is needed, this is not the case with Mass Effect. I can install Sins on 4 PCs if I want, try to activate Mass effect more than 3 times. I can re-download sins whenever I want : EA download manager allows it only with the digital
This is the same problem with Valve games. And Steam is much more invasive than Impulse. You buy your game, you can play without the DVD, you can download patches for free via the website and you have the tools and access to update it from a Ironclad/Stardock point. If you don't have a viable internet connection, this is not the fault of Ironclad/Stardock, this is your problem to find a way to update your game. Personally even without the patch 1.1, I payed for a game that is worth
I think you're right Phazon88, the future patches will be available only on Impulse. I bought sins so I have no problem to patch my games : good download speed through impulse, possibility for the developers to counter the "easy" piracy system and when I see the quality of the patches we have quite regularly, I really think about buying the next expansion. I have confidence in Ironclad to update their game regularly in the coming months, the fixes will probably be less impressive simply
As Nate has indicated, the game has been developed around gameplay. Instead of looking at the concept art and saying, wow that Rook is huge, he's probably really slow, the developers saw a box(unknown size) and determined its role accordingly..
An explicite quote from Nate :
Of course, it wasn't called "Demigod" yet, and the graphics consisted of box-headed bipeds running recycled Dungeon Siege animations. It wasn't pretty, but it was already fun. Stick m
I'm a huge fan of Sci-fi and Fantasy universes and I love the art design of Demigod. Thank you for you work (and above all the feed back to the community). You have my vote for the fairy shooter. :CONGRAT: .
There is something called mousewheel. Personally I tried it with Supreme Commander. It's incredible how the "tiny" units become bigger turning this magic button. Seriously, the different size of the units allow the player to better differentiate the units. A footman in Warcraft 3 is as tall as a hero. On a screenshot it's difficult to notice which unit is what if you don't play regularly this game. on the following
That's really a great news!!!!
This is a bonus for those who buy the game.
1. The old icons for embasy and starport 2. Possibility to play the previous campaigns with the new engine 3. Zoom to cursor everywhere (even in the tech trees) 4. The stretched portraits in the Trade window. I can't see anything else because ToA is almost perfect.
Singleplayer power !!!!!
Rotated parts make me crazy. Tech trees are so amazing now that I know it will be difficult to me to play another 4x. I love the AI of Gal Civ 2, for me it's one of the best part of a game : the consequence is TA is on my top list of games I really love to play (small maps because I have not enough time and patience to try immense maps :d ). Great job Stardock, you gave me the best expansion I've never played :CONGRAT: .
This mod is a must have. Can we have an update of the HGGM 2.0? (Screenshots maybe ?) I hope this will be compatible one day in the Metaverse (if possible). Thank you very much for your work LogicSequence. :D
It's a nice nostalgic touch. I love it. ;)
Excellent. It's a completely new Galactic civilization 2. I understand why you need so much time to polish the game. the number of new features and improvement is impressive. :D Just a question : what's the computer design AI ? The few games I played with the beta(I prefer to play the final release of a game), I didn't notice the feature. Is the AI completely design the ship with random eye-candies parts(the look of the ship will change drastically each game you play) ? Or are the
And how do you do selection groups without clicking on the minimap : straffing with left/right keys? I think you should really try the demos of Supreme Commander or Sins of a Solar Empire before saying its a bad feature for competitive gaming. I was not very enthusiastic the first time I heard about this. Now, it's difficult for me to return to "classic" RTS, simply because it's too close from the units and it's harder to anticipate/adapt my play style only with the tiny minimap.
You don't need to go on the left of the screen to click the minimap each time you want to micromanage another squadron and you gain lot of time.
Sorry but I can't edit my older post
Herrr. I will explain slowly. On Starcraft, when you use the minimap, you see your zerg or protoss as icons no ? OK, so basically you macromanage your units on the minimap(seeing your base and the ennemy units) and micromanage on the main screen. OK you folow me ? The main problem is you have to move the camera lateraly and you must have a good training to coordinate what you see on the minimap with what you have on the main screen. With a game like sins or Supreme Commander you can
I don't think you understood what he's saying. Let's just assume that in game "X", the most comfortable viewing for the average person is 1 soldier = 1 centimeter long, that is to say that at that scale it is easiest to quickly identify and differentiate between units and manage them accordingly. One person with a small monitor will adjust the zoom level until this scale is achieved, but he will only be able to view and manage a smaller slice of the game map, whereas a person with a hug
Are you crazy? The zoom is exactly the same whatever resolution you have. Let's check Sins of a solar empire or Supreme Commander if you don't believe me. You can see the whole battlefield in 1900x1200, 1600x1050,1024x768... this is not a question of hardware specifications but gameplay mechanics.
Thank you that's very interesting.
Starcraft was good for me because it was my first RTS. But now, I largely prefer to play Sins or supreme Commander. Starcraft 2 will be Starcraft in 3D, The dev will say they worked a llot on the units to redesign them. That's ok but it can't justify not adding new gameplay features like a decent zoom. That's a game for cybersport(what's a silly word, you can't do sport on a computer) so I will never buy it.
Can't update to 1.04, neither with Impulse nor Stardock Central. Impulse : I have a message box with "You don't have enough space on your disk". I have min 2GB per partition. Stardock Central : loading file list but doesn't download. Edit : It worked I don't know how with Stardock Central
This is idiotic, to be a good strategist your skills or in this case units need to be effective. Ever play Guild Wars? Thats a game where you can form strategies since there is a counter to every skill in the game. What you are saying to me is basically, I don't know how to play because advent doesn't have anyway to counter a TEC or Vasari rush. How can I make a strategy when there is nothing to work with that can be remotely effective?I suggest you go online, play advent against a compet
