Question concerning 1.6 update in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

So recently bought GalCiv2 and I love it! I was reading the journal entry about the 1.6 update and I am even more excited about blowing my vacation on this game! However, I just recently moved and do not have broadband service in my new apartment yet. Is there anyway I can download a stand alone file from stardock on another computer, and perhaps transfer it to my computer at home via portable HD? Any suggestions or solutions welcome...thanks!
