And a year later, I regain access to my account! too late for this bug. I'll request a merge of accounts. Sorry for never replying, I could never come back under this account after Stardock got hacked. :(

Tried reloading the game, it's still stuck in the same place. Debug2.zip All the other files are the same, I simply reloaded my game in the new version of the game, 2.95. I've included debug.err and prevDebug.err. The logs look similar at the end, the last 7 lines of the two files are totally identical. I'd really like this to get

Since my post in the thread was not noticed, I will post a new thread, sorry for that: https://forums.galciv4.com/528442/page/1/#3939337 I just tried it again now and it's stuck in a different place, same game, same files. If you need me to resend the save, just ask. Thank you.
Insider's patch. Same save game as before, same turn. Still stuck when I hit turn, possibly a little further along though. Right after a battle involving Peleus fleet III.
Your game sounds like a big challenge! Maybe try different strategies during the turn to see if it still gets stuck.
Yeah, I only tried 2 turns with different things. I might try something else to see how the AI reacts. It might be one of my survey ships too, I'll cancel their auto movements to see how it goes. :) On a side not, I gave the Mimot all my techs so they would declare war to the
- Version 2.6. Steam is set to auto-update. - Mods, yes. I have multiple custom races and ships/fleets. - Supplemental mods: the mod manager only shows " example mod ". Though I'm certain I did install mods before. Maybe they got deleted when I verified files from Steam?
I've fixed it. I thought I had enabled it to everyone with the link, sorry.
I don't know where you want these bug reports, here on the support ticket system? I always found the ticket easier to use since we can directly upload the files... This is a stuck game. Large galaxy, 3 clusters, lots of custom races including my own. Late game grinding. I can reproduce it, so far. Upon changing turn, I play my moves and the game gets stuck... somewhere. It's during an AI move, there's 4 races left to conquer. I don't do
Yeah, the clue here is that the error comes from "...\My Games\GalCiv4\Factions..." Doing a verify file will not help here. Even reinstalling probably won't either. What happens if you just remove that file (_23300E1E9E76447F83936856068CE620_FlavorText.xml) entirely from that folder ? I'm thinking your game should be fine after that. Normally, there is a name of the custom faction before the _23300E.... but your
Should be 48th char on that line.
Yes, I see that, but what do I replace it with? I have "US", what is it supposed to be? Do I just deleted it?
Hi, I have the following error on game startup, and each time I try to reload a game too. "...\My Games\GalCiv4\Factions\FlavorText\_23300E1E9E76447F83936856068CE620_FlavorText.xml(594,48): error: invalid character 0x1F" I validated my game files with Steam, but it keeps happening. It started doing that after a crash. I've checked the file, but there's a lot of lines, so it's a little like looking at a needle in a haystack. How can I fin
The feature works well for small galaxies. But in a large galaxy with many clusters, not so well. Could it be that instead of one per civilization, it becomes one per cluster, as per the map settings? Too hard to implement, I guess? I feel that there are a few things in the game don't scale well into the larger maps. Great game overall, though. :)
I can volunteer to correct some mistakes from the AI French translations, but I've never really used Github before, except to download and compile some softwares (I'm not a programmer). I have my account though. I have limited time, so I won't be able to do much, but I'll do what I can. How do I proceed? And since I don't own the game yet (I know, I know, I really should, but I don't have the time to play much :) ). If I ever need clarification/context for somethin
Neither of these services that allows "offline mode" means they stop collecting data on your gameplay. They just send it in a burst when you connect instead of as you play. Not that it matter anyway, I don't see this as privacy invading (data is not shared with advertisers for Steam and GOG, not sure about Epic) and it won't record anything outside of the app. Steam's privacy policy is here: https://sto
Don't know about Epic, but Steam & GOG don't really invade your privacy. They only collect stats on your gameplay. The devs will answer the rest with certainty, but I guess that, at some point, you will be able to buy the game through Stardock's store, at which point maybe it won't go through a 3rd party.
I was wondering the same! Wouldn't DX12 or Vulkan offer more flexibility toward the future than sticking with DX11? Wouldn't most hardware sold in the last 5 years counting from today support such APIs anyway?
I recall frogboy posting about what he felt was the frustation of working hard on free patches and that hard work not being appreciated by some members of GalCivIII World. I imagine they're coming to the point where there's going to be a value/benefit trade-off between putting time into work for GalCivIII or leave it - as unfinished/unpolished as most people seem to think it is (I think diplomacy and espionage are still not where they coul
Promethium is required (a lot of it) if you want more than just a couple of strong culture starbases. Also required on econ bases for research.
Yeah, I don't build many econ starbases, only on systems with more than one planet that I will use for starship productions. As for cultural starbases, I used them in strategic points, where I have a planet/s I want to flip, or one of mine that I do not want
Thanks for clarifying that. I'm still sad it's a chore to play with many race on my system, but I understand it can't be helped at this moment.
Generally, upgrade modules uses resources this way: blue= elerium (beam attack&defense) red = durantium yellow = antimatter others = variable. However, there's an exception with point defense modules that are yellow yet use elerium instead of antimatter. Was that intended to be (working as designed) or a simple mistake on the part of the developers? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/28/95/2895379/708ca335-9369-4744-b274-
Crusade was a big move, but Retribution is the best expansion to me. I like most of the DLCs, but given their smaller stature compared to expansions, I can't honestly compare them to one another. However, amongst themselves, I think I had the most fun with the Mega-Event one. I have no buyer remorse about the other DLCs, I loved all the ones I bought (all, except the Star Control ones, they mean nothing to me), but having more events is always appreciated in this game.
Maybe not a hot mess, but there are outstanding issues that need to be resolved, yes. A few improvements here & there too, I'm making some notes. If they aren't used for GC3, they could be of sure for a future GC4, provided some of the same game mechanics are used.
