Where is Combat Viewer in Dark Avater in Dark Avatar GalCiv2 Forums

I am new to this game. When does the combat viewer come on? My view of the combat is at the level of the camera that I used to move my ships into combat position. My view never switches to the "combat view" which is advertised as zoomed in and with rewind capability. Please help.
