The beta is currently in progress however it is not open to join until beta 2 starts. Here's the beat breakdown, we're currently in Beta 1B. Link

^I've never expirienced that behavior. The only cheating the AI does in Sins, as far as I know, it it has increased construction and income rates, but doesn't get ships for free and has to pay upkeep like everyone else. And Teal, how did you mod the AI? The only AI mods we can make are to the gameplay.constant and those don't do nearly enough to actually change the AI.
dunno ... I would like to see a 24 hour clock display configured into the interface though. No more playing till the sun comes up without realising it!!!
No, instead you'll know the sun is coming up in a half hour, but keep telling youself one more turn anyways. [e digicons][/e]
I can't tell if the OP is joking or not. Are you really that riled up about it?
The fourth one is the Civ 4 mod Fall from Heaven II.
The inn prolem is a bug. It didn't do that before the new build. I like the idea to be able to upgrades huts and such because the demolishing feature does need work. Currently I have to click to destroy, click 'yes' I really want to destroy, and then click one more time to actually destroy stuff - then do it again for every tile I want destroyed.
I disagree. However, I'm sure a 'Turn Off Infocards' option wouldn't be hard to put in.
It's BETA! They are designing this game to run on a huge variety of computers. Hell, Frogboy said he wants Elemental to be able to play on Netbooks. Right now there's memory leaks, bugs, and a probably just poorly optimized code that's making the performance, well, crappy. It's what the beta is for so give them good information so they can make it better.
Ok, then I would think there would need to be some kind of decay to reduce people building up rediculous amounts of resources.
Doh **feels sheepish** What I meant to say was how will local storage work? Infinite, buildable warehouse, ect.
I like the idea. Does it also implement storage or no?
I like where Frogboy is going with this. Anything less then magic is not going to hurt a dragon. Arrows and swords propelled by men are not strong enough to do damage. It'd be like non-venomess ant bites - they could sting you everywhere, and while it might hurt a little, all it would do make you angrier.
Now that is some bear cavalry!
Well, I've been trying to not jump the shark because nothing is finalized, but these announcements on the simplification of the economy system are really disappointing. I just hope that this doesn't get hardcoded so at least through modding we can have the complex economy initially envisioned for this game.
I generally cant pan with the mouse after a couple turns, but dragging the map around with the left mouse button is actually my preferred method of getting around.
My only issue with no resource storing is what about when I'm not producing units? How will this be taken into account when I'm producing 10 units of iron ore but not using them for anything?
I have had no problems with Vista 64, however, you should buy Window 7 64 bit if you can.
Hmm...odd. I've had no problems moving scouts out of cities.
Unfortunently for you guys(as in, ones who prefer multiplayer and want to expand it), DirtySanchezz hit the nail on the head with his previous post - Many people, including myself, simply have no desire to go online. Not because of assholes, smurfers, technical issues, or anything like that, we simply have no desire to play multiplayer. To me, single player works great, I don't care for the extra challange, and if I do join I have to worry that if something comes up then I cant just save my g
I feel that some resources should be generally available without having a genuine resource tile. Wood is the best example. Just because you don't have full forest tiles doesn't mean there aren't any trees around at all. I'd have to study up on my geology (or read the dwarf fortress wiki) but I believe Iron is common enough that you might be able to get small amounts without having a massive iron deposit. This could be
I want resources required to build a unit and required to be in the city the units being built, or else it takes extra time and money to ship them there. While I love Civ 4(well, its mods mostly), I hate the fact that as soon as you control an iron resource you can build swordsmen in any city conducting trade. I also hate the fact that one iron resource allows you to build the same amount of units, in the same amount of time, as owning 10 resources. Is it annoying when some backwater
Aha, so when a warrior beats the cr*p out of a tank it's ok. You reload the game, and the same warrior gets killed by the tank easily. You reload again, and the warrior kills the tank again. So this system isn't primitive & dumbed down you say? It's an RNG based piece of cr*p to be honest. This is why we will need to have damage types in Elemental for example. I don't want to see a primitive system in this game. [IE:
After you download Impusle you will have to redownload all your games. It will only be one download though, as Impusle includes all updates automatically. You don't have to uninstall Impusle before installing on another computer, however, according to the EULA you can have it on a max of 2 PCs at the same time, although I doubt it gets enforced very often. Go with 64 bit. 32 bit maxes out with 2 gigs ram while 64 bit does not.
**facepalm** Yes, Dragoon is part of the mod team. No, the Romulans are not released yet. No, I am not part of the mod team.
