Please eliminate cheating on the part of the A.I. . That is, please eliminate computer opponent statistical advantages. You are crafting a tight contest with Demigod. Having a foe cheat in that tight contest flies in the face of the entire game concept - the computer isn`t playing by the same rules I am. People are sort of heralding Demigod as a great epic balanced challenge, and yet there is contentment with an opponent in singleplayer and skirmish who is fundamentally imbala

The A.I. consistently utilizes movement-killing items, so there is an equality there if you yourself use such against him... he is still faster. Faster plus ranged weaponry, plus the boosted primary weapon his crossbow eventually is, gives you a mean m****rf***er. The Oak doesn`t compare to him. Nor does the Queen Of Thorns. The TorchBearer is ranged as well, but his primary attack is *not* boosted by abilities like Regulus`. That is where Regulus kicks arse. And again

I still get stutter, incidental spurts here and there every time a new asset is loaded or featured in the course of gameplay. I have also rarely experienced a dramatic pause (2 to 4 seconds) while something loads or otherwise occurs; generally things are very busy onscreen at that time. Never had that in previous betas.

Regulus has a supreme advantage over most other Demigods, and it shows - projectile weapons. Technically, he brings a gun to a melee. I seriously suggest slashing his armour value. Given his speed and penchant for running away to a new firing position, the difficulty in catching him balances such a reduction. He is utterly brutal.

After deleting the contents of my Cache directory the stutter *seems* a little less frequent and a little less lengthy in duration when it does occur... but I can`t be too sure its due to the Cache deletion. Not a pronounced enough change to tell - could just be normal anomalous fluctuation. It is worth noting that prior to deletion my Cache directory was 78 Meg, now after a single game it is 63 Meg.

Yep, software is the worst. I lost 2 weeks to an upside down PCI cable though... utterly disabled my system until a buddy who knew better was able to make it over and enlighten me. My own stupidity there. Glad it finally works for you. I`m planning/in the process of putting together a second gaming rig for guests using my old Q6600 as the core; hopefully things will go smoothly...

Maps of less than 14 planets I can see being an option. That wouldn`t change the core game at all. There could be an option to determine the planet and star counts in randomly generated maps.

I am completely open on the Pantheon - no preconceptions, no expectations, just raw curiousity. At this point I think I am in an "add more, polish up, everything is fine just fine" stage. From what I`ve seen Demigod is going to turn out very well. As always, looking forward to new code.

I think I must correct myself and state that I do observe a stutter whenever a new asset is loaded. Whether it is audial, visual, or both I do not know... it seems to pause noticeably everytime something new for the skirmish gets introduced (minion summoning, zoomed texture detail, etc.). Some kind of caching behaviour I think (?).

Again, on a small map with all speed settings set to their highest/fastest, I cannot understand how Sins cannot be a quick experience... More than that and you`ve got a Starcraft skirmish. As for political posts, if you want to fundamentally change the face of the game, which is necessary given your parameters, yes - you`re going to have to argue your point with others. Anyway, agree to disagree.

If you are looking for a faster game experience I would advise trying a different game. As long as Sins maintains a strategic aspect, you are never going to be playing the kind of game you speak of (you being those who wish something faster/quicker). This isn`t CounterStrike. They have a savegame feature. I realize it can be difficult to coordinate a return of the players of prior saved games, but thats a reality of any game endeavour. You can already select small maps to play in. You
Quoting WarlokLord, reply 11 There is a parallel here with DRM schemes. Actually the parallell would be with the malware. It's kind of obvious that anti-malware need to run on the same level of the OS that the malware itself does. I don't see how it's similar to DRM at all... DRM is not harmful, there's NO evidence that any of the commonly used DRM apps do any kind of damage, just a bunch of
Will that feature where I can play with people who have JUST vanillia sins over ICO be availible or not (while I have entrenchment installed)? I mean I'm sure my friends will get it eventually, but until then that would really be nice.
I agree. I*had* a seperate Sins entry (Sins and Entrenchment distinctly listed in Impulse), prior to the latest beta update.

Regarding Majesty 2 itself, if you ever get the chance to molest the design please pass along my suggestion to break down the reward currencies. My idea is to have other currency besides raw Gold coin for rewards, with those different currencies enticing different characters in different ways & to differing degrees. For example, offering a reward of Gems instead of Gold might bring out both the Wizards and the Dwarves more frequently. Also, allow a player to create individual magi
Majesty 2 is being published by Paradox Interactive in 2009. Since we are working to add a ton of Paradox games to Impulse right now (seriously, I'm uploading about half a dozen for testing as I type this), I think there stands a fair chance you'll see Majesty 2 on Impulse in the future. But be sure you let Paradox know how much you want this to happen, just to be safe!
VERY cool! Here`s hoping a full partnership fea
Another idea I've got leads to commanders and ambassadors abord capitol ships. The Vasari commander could create a strong oppressive increase in influence, fleet power, phase jumping, missile penetration, etc. The Advent commander might create additional abilities on capitol ships at an antimatter cost subject to the personal MP of the commander or the vessel's supply or both (ie Vengeance on a Radiance, Ampli
I was wondering what anybody thinks of this as they don't cost anything to lose or build (appart from time) so its easier to use them for cover/attacks without any actual cost, e.g they can be used to swarm opponants and their bases and give quight a lot of damage in numbers. Personally i don't have any opinion on it strongly eitherway, but was just thinking it because everything else has a resoruce cost and that they can be quight powerful (and effective) whe
