Frogboy: just read your comment in another topic about uninstalling the beta first. will do =)

nothing out if the ordinary. a single 2mpbs dsl -> wifi router -> laptop. no funny stuff like proxies or firewalls. save the stuff built into the router. i remember seeing the same/similar issue with the beta. it wasn't until i checked the 'show preview version' box that it downloaded correctly. i'll try unchecking it tonight to see if that helps. i also downloaded the impulse beta last night (v.nice) and tried from there. it appeared to download the files an
Hi, got one of those feelings to run SDC and YAY! TA's released. 1) start download. 2) read posts on new features wide eyed 3) tab back to SDC just in time to see 99% turn to 100% and it reset to 0% (currently 38%) anyone got any ideas on what happened?
when assigning movement orders you can press shift to stack them, so while you can't make a loop you can (and i do) tell me scouts the path i want them to take, just keeping clicking till you're bored. but yeah a loop feature would be nice, though i don't think we need to petition the devs to get it, just in case ;) /signed
would that include industrial sabotage? tres cool :HOT:
i like the idea of keeping things secret (it's fun being allied people and getting them to fight =P) but i also like the idea of seeing my allies allies, so i know i'm fighting for a good cause. so i propose a diplomatic option (like show ships) be added that shows an ally who i'm allied with. this way by sharing we can trust each other more, which is what diplomacy is about. thoughts?
Thanks frogboy, that's all you had to say. i can sleep soundly now.
Hi, don't want to winge on this good news, but... firstly, i've updated to 1.04 and rebooted twice (just in case that did the trick) first issue i'm seeing is it's taking 30-60 secs for me to login (i.e. be able to select my name after entering my password) also i'm unable to join any (open) game, i can see there are people joining so the hosts must be good. it's late here, so i havn't got time to investigate, but i was hosting fine before hand so my network should be good
masterfod, if you havn't already read 1.04 was just released, update =)
dang. thanks for the answer Kryo, guess i'll have to rely on screen captures then.
and if any dev's read this, could rewind be implemented? or if i'm be ignorant, could some show me where to click =) other than that, i completly agree with the OP, cookies are worthy.
i'm not proud and i daren't say it, but it involves: a)owning a planet (preferably a dead astroid) near the pirates b)not building any orbital structures the rest i'll leave to you to work out
culture should keep spreading until it's meet by opposing culture or a opposing capital ship. not sure how culture works with allies, though i doubt it would affect alligence as you suggest.
take a look at this thread. [link]https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/305565[/link] it's not strategy but it gives you a decent bases for how things are done, there's also link to sheets of stats that are more usful desciptions than the manual. that's the ships, as for economy... simply, make sure you upgrade civilian structures on your planets asap, more people = more taxes. also research the mining and planet upgrades to boost resources. the games really i
i've been keeping an eye on the number of user actions in muliplayer (when the game ends it's the last graph in the empire section) and noticed that the winner is usually the one with the steepest angle on the graph (ie consistantly the most/alot of actions). my own angle is usually between 30-40 degrees and i consider myself to be a 'could do better' just wondering what the forum thinks on this?
I'm in the UK, it took approx 1hr40mins from purchase to play using a ~2mb/s connection i'd used Stardock Central before (simple program that handles the serial, download and future updates) though so add another 20mins or so for that.
what's your suggestion?

check out the combat mechanics thread in strategy Ptarth's done an excellent job of rounding up the details
dunno, i do know how to get 4 elephants into a mini though
i've wondered about this my self and found myself content with the following conclusion: i seem to enjoy games most when playing people with a) more than 4 games b)1-2 more losses that wins. shows a least a bit of dedication to the game and enough humility to be able to surrender now and again. anything out side of that pattern and i know the game won't be much fun, mainly due to beardy players thinking it's ok to insult people becuase they're not physically there. and never pl
quick answer before i go to work, i'll have a proper look at what your saying when i get home my calculation uses a modified DPS of 4.12, so it would be slightly higher if i didn't start repairing hull, till it was damaged, doh! =) i'll go through the rest of the math later and work out what's happening re: the 1/10 MrL
ok, i've done a bit of math and the answer is 41.9. not sure how important it is to round off, so i'll have give that some more thought =) below is the equation and my reasoning behind it. it's been almost 10 years (!) since i've done something like this, so if i've got my logic wrong, please tell me. here's the equation going by the OP:
time to die = (hull+hull/100*(5*armour)+shields)/((DPS/100*WvA)-regen-(repair+repair/100*(33+5*armor)))
1)thi
just a note to say that the +/- doesn't work for pinned posts in Opera 9.26. it's working for recently active posts, just not the pinned ones. also, search doesn't return anything either. though not sure if it ever did.
depends, i find that SoaSE allows for a decent amount of cooking time ;), though of course that depends of how much you like burnt food =(
