That's pretty interesting, may just try it out! Of course I always use super diplomat builds to go for alliance victories, or influence with a standard small colonization that just pumps out constructors to push influence. All the while researching through the diplomatic tree. Of course this is done without using speed, so I like your idea.

I would say that $40 for the game + expansions isn't bad, especially since digital download means you can always re-dl it if need be. If you lose a disk, sucks for you. Can't lose a digital product.
