It was really just in jest. Its a running joke with the guys I LAN with... the guy I'm talking about is a muso and he obviously loves his music, thats all. He requested that I ask.... although I know its not gonna happen. I also think that an ingame MP3 player is an awesome idea though. For really long games you can listen to docos aswell as music. Catchup on your RSS streams. Stuff like that, while being able to skip, fast forward etc. Alt-tabbing linda spoils everything ju

Sorry guys, thanks for the help. I did make it fairly clear that the mp3 feature must be in game. Workarounds don't cut it ;) No subsititutes. Also this is kinda a running joke with a friend. He says that no game is finished unless it has an in-game mp3 player and I have a bit of a laugh at his outrageous suggestion. He is serious though. Not after work arounds, after a feature.

Hi Guys, I have a friend who believes that like silent hunter 3 or orbiter, every game should have an in game mp3 browser/player. He is buggin the hell out of me to ask whether this will be a feature. Its an interesting request and one that probably would not require too much work. The player would enable peeps to drop songs in directories and skip through them. I guess this would include the standard tracks. Perhaps this feature could be unlocked when one builds

To be honest though, I am not a great fan of superweapons. It will add some fun, but also turn into an arms race every game. Rather than a good series of battles or skirmishes. A successfull turtle would be rewarded with superweapons. Thats one thing I did not like about homeworld2, it was a race for the battlecruisers with hyperspace - then all over for the enemy. mods have since fixed this though

Just curious - and yes I have not done search sorry. There was a similar topic as I remember it, but that was more a whine about a beta5 I imagine once BETA is closed that we will probably get some patches and updates. Perhaps even the full game - or close to - relatively early. with so many features yet to be added, it would be nice. What the real question I am asking is, is it on the card that we "may" get significant updates before the game goes g

Wow, just read the majority of the thread here. Love the game. Playing the BETA4..... At the moment I am a little dissappointed witht he 2D nature of tactical combat. It would be good to be able to choose what point to jump in at and to slingshot. Perhaps this should be a realism option in the menu. Enable complex gravity well :- a) enables building structures anywhere on a sphere of the current build circles. b) Enables ability to jump to a point

I also Like Z axis. Notice the AI do it sometimes during battle, wanted to try some tactics with this function later.

I do submit that I was indeed too harsh. I did put a disclaimer though to the post. Just to let peeps know I was being harsh on purpose just to vent my views on the matter. A bit comical really. That last was also joke of sorts - the Duellist. Point of Honor and all. And we all know video games make you kill people, just like movies ;) And that joking about this can be taken the wrong way - even if winks are added some might still not catch the joke. I do apologise to Chewi for

sorry, your right. I did intend to tone it down but had not time ;) And I just watched the Duellist for the first time ;)

chewybaka - a point of honour? I hope your not involved with any projects in your new job. Watch out sub-contractors. He might decide when its half finished he does not want to pay. He will be very sorry, but only his family counts, nobody else has to feed anybody. Good luck with your new job and fam. Been there done that, just did not rip anybody off to do it. You sound like you will end up very rich.... people like you just do, on the backs of others. P.S. I'm just ve

I think your nuts, I absolutely abhore people who are indian buyers. Everybody assumes that everything is returnable. I don't know why. You made the decision and now you have to take the responsability. All of this you speak of is outside Stardock's control, why should they pay for your mistake? Anyways I have said my piece, I also know what gaming is like with kids around It can be fun.

Did a quick search and could not find matches I can post more info next time I encounter it. Suffice to say their is an error that pops up in the background causing the game to freeze. Alt tabbing and pressing skip all usually fixes it. I notice that it seems to be linked to in game objects and when Alt tabbing back in notice an error on an object - i.e. Object not found or something similar on an asteroid or planet when you click on it. I get this fairly regu

Blair, this is exactly what I am looking for. I just wanted the ships to act as a cohesive unit. Any extra formations and tactical options will be a bonus. Like I said, its more about the fleet dispersing and acting as singular units, theirfore getting picked off without great micromanagement. Its also about targetting and fleet balance, as I said at the moment things like Flak frigates are virtually useless. The AI uses them as heavy hitters and when they wonder off they get pi

Played some more of the BETA last night. I have been right clicking on the correct button to choose - hold ground, gravity well or local area style attack radius. Been getting used to jumping in with groups of ships together, its a little hard to control the fleet if its more than a few ships. A lot of micro is needed for any tactics. Thats ok, but what would be better are some basic formations. My main gripe is that I lose control of my ships if I want them to attack, they mov
