Perhaps, as an alternative to removing this event, it could be scalled to the size of the map. There's a huge difference between a max speed of 5 on a small map and a max speed of 5 on a gigantic one. Maybe for gigantic this even should set a max speed of 20 or 25 and scale down to 5 for the smallest map.
I think religion is already encompassed by influence; after all, it's just another part of one's culture, hence Cultural Victory could be interpreted as religious conversion. ...
This was my thought as well
And we can add high Espionage should let you know have Civs are going to vote.
It would be nice if you could bribe other race to vote with you.
There is already an option for that. Look on the interface tab on the options menu.
Darn! You guys keep being so useful! ;)
It would be nice, when upgrading a ship design if the user had the option of starting with the prior complete design rather than with one that strips out all of the non-eye candy components. For example, if I'm upgrading the design of my small war ships to use a later generation of lazers, I'd prefer to delete the prior lazers and then add the new ones, rather that have to add the new lazers and readd the engines and any other compents. For this to work the "Clear" button shoul
...low realism? At the high end of the tech tree you are FIRING BLACK HOLES FROM A GUN. I do not think that if you can a) build space ships and b) colonize planets with toxic atmospheres, you would have much trouble colonizing an atmosphereless rock. Or hey, why not use some of that Sufficiently Advanced Technology to MAKE an atmosphere on the planet?
Think of it as more a matter of scale. A planet isn't considered colinizable unless it can support 5 to 6 billion critte
I had a friend of mine loose his job to one of those machines. The irony is that they only rent out a dozen or so films, so now people can only rent the new releases and not the entire library that the video store had.
We see this because, as humans, we have a hard time envisioning a race of robots that want to take over the universe as being good. The closest would be Asamov's robots in his last books.
This problem can work both ways on the influence side, as the AIs influence is affected as well. It would be much more preferable if the influece and tourism calcs were independent of the number of turns since the last load.
I've had icons (not 3d models or the white icons of the tactical view) turn solid black after making a modle obsolete. This happens when I select a stack that includes an obsolete model or fleet. It goes away if I create a new fleet with of the obsolete model or if I shut down and restart after the upgrade.
Okay, maybe this is a noob question, but ... Why is it that the more advanced tech, that is supposed to be smaller in size, has the largest graphics? For example the Impulse Drive Mark III's graphic is about three times the size of the Impulse Drive's, even though it's supposed to be the smallest version. Wouldn't it make more sense to switch the graphics around?
