Very beautiful guys. The symmetry planes are very useful. Is there going to be a button that turns the symmetry off without deleting the newly created parts? This would allow the user to quickly create a symmetrical object and then asymmetrically modify it. Are there any plans to have a tool that creates connectors between parts, ie straight sheets of metal? The oscillate tool is somewhat interesting, but it looks like it is really hard to

I don't think GC2 and GC3's interfaces look close. You can tell that they are from the same series, yes, but there's so much difference. The details of the star's atmosphere. The hexes . There's not a single button in the same place, and usually they're not even close. Did you notice the semi-transparent build list? Yeah, they're pretty different alright. But they have the same DNA.

Beware the MoO3 effect. If the AI is running your empire, why are you playing? I'm all for tools to allow the player to give orders to multiple worlds at once, but when it starts being the AI giving the orders... worries, we've got worries.

"deep-space shipyard painstakingly made over the last half-a-game" -nightraven1901 *whistles* Deep-space shipyards. Frogboy, Mr. Wardell, Sir, could we have this please? I would love to have a "civilization on the brink of extinction" scenario- like the Colonials from BSG or the Quarians from Mass Effect. They move into a system, take what resources they can, and move on. They're usually hated by everybody, though they have some friends. Great empires love

Here's an interesting possibility. Suppose the Drengin have conquered the universe. What do they need? Slavelings. And they would also like to feel all-powerful. Bioengineering their own custom race would solve both problems. The Thalans are insectoid. Insects work, and work hard. Now. Suppose the Terran "Crusade" keeps the Drengin from conquering the universe. The Thalans would be erased from history. They would never exist. This could be construed as an "alternate univer
You probably don't want your awesome research planet shifting to a production focus even if you're going to a war footing and mass producing ships. So being able to override that for the individual planet is a handy thing to have.
A bug to avoid: having all the planetary focus wheels reset whenever the civilization focus wheel resets

I believe there needs to be a much, much larger variety of random events for Galactic Civilizations Three. Some ideas: Civilian research makes a breakthrough in technology X. They offer to sell it to Government Y (possibly you). Stable wormholes appear throughout the galaxy. [On Awe-Inspiringly large maps, this is game changing] An entire new system appears, with no explanation [though perhaps the player could research one? Perhaps something disc
2) Make trade revenue scale somehow, so that later on in the game, it's still worthwhile to set up trade routes. In Galciv2, we could tweak the XML to make trade worth more, but once you get up to your maximum trade routes, that's it. As your empire grows, the slice of your income generated by trade gets smaller and smaller.

suggestions: Mo

I was reading this list and I found androshalforc's suggestion that existing buildings give bonuses to researching technologies associated with them, i.e. farms improve farming and terraforming, etc. Here's what I think should be done. I think there should be buildings whose only purpose that accelerate technology in a given field. Weapon Testing Ranges for weaponry and defenses Shipyards for advanced hull sizes and logistics Think-tanks

I rarely fight dread lords, but whenever I do, I prefer small fighters, even in DA. Load 'em up with max weapons and make them into fleets, but MAKE SURE the total fleet attack is greater than said Dread Lord's hp's, or you're just going to have wasted the fighters. Some people have tried making monsterously big capitals, but the cost in that is so high, it would be one on one, or worse. Make sure your economy is revving as well.

I would like to see "Hotseats" added to the game, where you would play a round, and then a buddy would sit down and take his turn. To be able to do that and take on AI's would be very, very cool. I read that Civ 4 had this feature. I would love to see it in GalCiv 2. One other thing: Enhanced combat AI. I hate the fact that all the AI transports come single file, or in pairs guarded by an obsolete ship>

I prefer to fight the Yor than play as them, but keep in mind your super ability (DA/TA?) which can greatly assist in the above strategies. Whatever you do, don't forget to have an "evil buddy" to trade with and support your war machine. Miniaturization is also important, it means you can fit more stuff. As for battlefield tactics, a few well placed scouts are always helpful when moving in for the kill. Nothing worse than suddenly discovering a big, fat, Terran dreadnought hiding out of sensor r

I think that many nations won't leave earth, Kenya for example. Others, like America and China, will strike out on their own. There may be EU-like coalitions exploring space. But I sincerly doubt hyperspace travel will unite mankind. Just look at the Palestinians picking on the Israelites. They could go anywhere, but they want that one spot.
