The Problem with making a game based on real data is that we end up unbalanced statistics. I know people are saying the game leans right, but the truth is that because we use real world data, the game is actually biased to the Democrats. At the moment is much easier to win on normal difficulty or above as a Demarcate. It is much more difficult to win as a Republican. <SPAN style="FON

I have been waiting over a year for someone to stumble upon that, glad you got a kick out of it. ;)
OK, so as far as I can tell, the problem is that you are somehow useing the ship configs, from DA, but using the modlels form TofA, or Vise-Versa. The problem comes from the fact that We went through and fixed the more wonky hardpoints in the old modles, and added a few. We also moved some of the structures around, so that they have differant names now. The easyest way to fix it, would be to re-install a fresh copy, but before you do that, try moveing your Twilight Folder out of the My G
After thinking about this for a sec, I realized, if you are getting this on Core ships, it is most likely a install problem. Some how twilight must be looking in the DA Folder for the ships, the quickist way to fix this would probobly be to re-install. I will look into it when I get back to the office.
A great deal of the modles in Twilight were either re-textured or tuched up, alot of this included fixing some of the more sloppy hard pints, sadly this could through off some ship designs from DL or DA, I tryed to compinsate for this by makeing sure all the template ships were still good to go. If you really love a older design you can probobly fix it by just re rotateing the peaces.
The Arnorian Ships are in the Ship Configs folder under data, if you just want to copy them out and use them, You can also make all but one of them with the extras that are included in the game if you are fealing creative. The only thing you wont get, outside of the Campaign, or the Event, is all the techs that come with them. Uless you research them yourself.

The improvements are boogiebac, not me ;) I think he was a bit overwelmed by the 160 or so new improvements he had to make for TW.
Yes, it is in the DXPack, there is a script in it as well that moves it, so it alway stays in the right location. But all of which can be changed with DesktopX. You can even resize it.
There are some futher tweeks in the beta we are posting today, I dont think I will be able to get to the S0_Cargo_0, which is the hull the terron colony is built with. Mostly because it is one of the best of the old textures, I still want to do it if i get a chance, it will probobly show up in a future Point releace. I did however re texture the colony module its self.
Part 1, Lessons learned. Around three years ago I was just getting my feet wet in the world of 3D modeling; we were working our buts off building the new 3D engine that became Galactic Civilization II, and I hoping to get in on making the shi
You can down load the IP packs, and when Iconpackager installs it it will uncompress them and place them int he IconPackager\themes\Icon-A-Day\pack. You can also download the Icons stand alown form the links in the totorials.
It is posible that your the normal map you are making dose not have much "Texture" to them. Convert the original bitmap to Grayscale and bump up the contrast a bit, then try remailing them. You can look into the Modles folder if you want to see some samples. Also, Dont use the DDS for the normal. Compressed Normals only work on some cards, and if your card dose not work with it then you will get nothing, or wierdness.
Few things: First, The game will use the DDS file if it finds it, if not it will use the PNG. So if you have a file called SO_Myship_01.dds, and a file called S0_MyShip_01.png. It will use the DDS. This is because in some most case you can have compressed DDS files that are
As most of you know I have spent the last 2 years working on Galactic Civilizations II, and the last 8 months of that or so working on its Expansion Pack Dark Avatar. G4's X-Play, formerly TechTV's X-Play, just gave Dark Avatar the type of review that makes all the long hours and unused vacation days worth the effort. Check
In some ways 5k's are as hard as a marathon, each second off your time is a achivment. 30 miutes is a good goal to start with, but becareful its eazy to get addicted.
