I really want to play one of the pesons that plays fast like an RTS to see what happens. I really think I have a sounder strat givin the way the game is layed out for the player. I really dont think going for very planet as fast as you can all the while spammin ships would over com a well defended reseached empire of 5 planet, even if they have twice as many ships Also I dont even grab a second carrier unill i start building the flaks which is about 15-20 min in.

Yeah i agree with that. Although i don't get pounced on the AI gives me a harder time if we're really close..not much though. i suppose they focus on production and military tree early but im guessing that Home planets ar far on the map and you've built enough defence as long as you dont wander to far wth your fleets you'd have a better con midgame

so someone play me online (noones ever on?) I said like tutleing ...I do expand early i just don't spread thin, I take time on the tree and build up my home planet. I focus on economy rather then massin fleets right away. Normally though, the small fleet a do posses (A capitol and6-8 frigates) are up graded with armor and laser upgrades. Also because im building reasearch buildings, i normally have acsess to better quality ships. Mabey i just diddnt get my point across. Its more

Well, Thats sort of the kind of feed back I was looing for. However if you grab an expantion in minutes, Im going to have better income as new expansions cost money rather then make money. Also I did say I have 2 expansions in about 5-7 minutes. And I have most of the economy upgrades at least at level 1. After about 5 min I go for my first expansion maybe even taking 2 at the same time depending on circumstances.

I made the text a little larger beacause it was a little hard on the eyes at size 2 My thoughts on SINS, Please comment I’ve noticed new players really treat sins like a normal RTS. To me that’s like treating Bobby Fisher as a kid who likes games. Maybe it's just me but I play sins more like 4x then anything. I think part of it may be that its real time and people feel hurried. Don't get me wrong you do have to stay on top of things, but not like a WAR3

And yes as long as SINS will be kept alive through expansions (at least 1 per year) I really believe it will sit at the right hand of GalCiv being stardocks best games and absolute must have for sci fi loving gamers. Ive had the beta about 2 weeks now and i still haven't got the game memorized yet (tech tree, units) To me staying fresh, much like produce, is what makes a game great. PS.. Please dont be like U@W and charge money for multiplayer. please.

There will be a story mode, just not a campaign in the traditional sense . What that means, no one (yet) knows. who on here is gona break my noob cherry and whoop me good ? I'm always

Thanks for the advise. I definatly see some things I'm doing wrong (building way to much) gal civ is its own type of game and i think Im trying to play it like regular civ (sid meier) Where you ALWAYS want to be building SOMTHING. My last game i tried to expand a little slower and my economy was booming by year 3 or so but rather then nabbing 75% -90% of the planets i ended up with half. However i was greatly out producing my opponent. I think this stratagy of not building right away definat

Hi, Ive read the beg. guide a few times and Im starting to get the hang of things. on problem i keep running into is debt. How fast should i be colonizing? How do i deal with that 12 maitnence cost for every new planet?? Just seems by early-mid game im always swamed with debt with every planet -20 to -30 income, how do i get around this. more specificly in the campaign where you cant build freighters to get trade income?? Hell yes Civ 4 is awsum. Warlords has some great built in mods like the chinese unification and alexander vs persia. Love that game, so much fun... If your a GalCiv2 fan and want to play on tera firma go for it, gold edition comes with Warlords and its only 30 bucks for basicly infinte play. Lot of fun

I really have to dissagree with the previous post. Please don't make the ships move slower... It may seem a little slow pased for an rts at first but when you have a few planets colonized the speed is perfect IMO. any faster and it would be to hard to keep up and any slower would be a yawn-fest. Also its supposed to be in-between, you have great controll with the UI. Micro managing on a straight rts level would just be too tough when dealing with multiple battles. Yes, to sit

I'd still like a campaign mode, missions are fun. On a different note... Anyone have a basic stratagy yet? The scope of this game is pretty big and Im still behind the curve as to what to do and when to do it... Do you goto colonize new planets quickly...or build up your homeplanet first? do you hit the tech tree right away...or wait to get established? I know there is more then 1 way to skrew a baboon but there always seems to be a more "correct" bu

I wonder what they mean by that? I mean, you eather have a campaign mode or you dont.... Without a campaign mode this becomes a strictly multiplayer game...not that that's a bad thing. But somtimes I feel anti social... Also campaign modes help develop a backround story, they also provide scenario type combat. I guess we'll wait and see, but if the beta is showing all Sins has to offer for single player, I can't say I won'td be a little dissapointed..

so far loving this game. Beautiful graphics, fun play, intuitive interface..... Only problem is the story is a little dry as is, not really sure who is who or why or how... Guessing the final version will clear this up. The tutorial could be a little deeper also. Also needs a campaign mode, main game will have this, right?
