newbie question. Just got CXP and also got CFX as a bonus. Which to use? Both? I installed CXP but if I want to use CFX do I need to un-install CXP? Is CFX an upgraded version? Also, I bought it as a stand alone after I bought Object Desktop. CXP isn't listed in SDC. Can I add it there somehow? Have also had some problems with the cursor starting to move irratically around the screen. This usually happens after I've started CXP and it's run for about an hour. Wierd or what????????

Zubaz, Frustrating thing this install problem. I contacted Stardock support and got the standard wait 2 business days reply, but as yet (4 days) no reply forthcoming. Would I just be better off downloading the newest versions of WindowBlinds and Sound Packager and doing an install that way, and would I have to uninstall first?

I tried to archive (with skins) and get this error message. "There was an error installing WindowBlinds 6. The following error occurred: Loadad:C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\installed\wb6.xml 0(file not found) Here is a copy of the log: -- [Application] ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Stardock Central Path: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral Version: 2.50.511, build: 163 -- [System Information] ------------------------------

WB6 won't update. It sticks at install actions. It can't be canceled, so you have to close SDC. The same happens with sound packager. I tried archiving and updating, I tried archiving with skins and updating, the same as above happens. I read a trouble shooting article that said "wblind.dll becomes locked from changes if you have ever uninstalled it before", and "if you attempt to update andthis file isn't replaced...things can get funky." Should I just download the newest version

OD in Stardock Central shows premium skin not installed and it won't finish the install process (hanging up at install action). However the Turbo skin as noted in the readme text is installed. The premium suite folder under C:\program files\stardock\object desktop\premium suites has only a readme text that says the suite "Quest" is supplied, however there is nothing else in the folder, yet it shows as installed in SD C

Thanks Quentin. I take it you don't apply an entire desktop if you have a visual style set in WB. Are all of these images, icons, cursors etc. made with various OD programs, or made in programs like Photoshop? I think all of this is going to be a steep learning curve for an old guy like me.

Newbie here. I love running WB and upon checking out desktops for DX I find few that are listed for 1680x1050 resolution. This is the only resolution (native) that really works well on this 22" monitor. I was checking out parts of DX that are resolutin independant, so I guess those will work. Can I use things from DX such as sidebars at the same time as using WB? Thanks!

Seabass, Newbie here again. I had CursorXP Free installed and then decided to buy the pro version, which I did. The confirmation email came with both XP Pro and FX. Like the novice I am, I installed both. XP Pro first over the free version, then FX. Well nothing has worked right since in the cursor department. I didn't even know they used different file extensions. Man this is a bit a learning curve with the OD Suite, ObjectDock and the cursor programs. I'm not one of these quick
Hi Yrag! Angus....in SDC listed under "free stuff" is a little app called "Smart Exception." I would run that while your testing things out and if you get any errors...that can generate an error report that could help diagnose any problems.
Thanks WebGizmo, I'll check that out tomorrow and see how it goes. Bedtime

Hope this doesn't get double posted, I had a glitch as I hit "POST". Anyway, thanks for your information. I had some problems at first, as I thought the entire product would install. Mostly worked out now. Added Object Dock and really like it. Having some stability problems with DesktopX and am continually having to clean screen.exe processes. Anyone have an idea of which program is starting all of them? Another unrelated

Many thanks for the information. OD has been somewhat confusing. Not a normal install of all components at once as I had expected. Had to flail around a bit but I got it all installed. For some reason I'm not receiving email notifications of replies anymore. Also, I am constantly having to clear multiple instances of screen.exe from processes. Any ideas?

Thanks guys, I'm still not certain what the difference is between DesktopX that comes with the complete OD suite and the seperate DesktopX3 that is for sale as a stand alone. Object Desktop Launcher isn't working. Do I need it to launch widgets, desktops and objects or can these be performed from other programs in the suite? Every time I try to start OD Launcher I get these errors that "The procedure entry point DoNotOpenPipeStream could not be located in the dynamic link library Scr

Newbie here. Have only had OD for a couple of days (overwhelming). I am going to subscribe and get the WC browser, but as I was cruising the store I noticed some of the other software offered and am a bit confused. What's the difference between ObjectDock Plus and ObjectBar in OD? Also, what's the difference between DesktopX 3 and DesktopX in OD. Are they different and if so are there any great advantages to to the ObjectDock Plus and DesktopX 3 over what is in

Everything is activated okay. I reverted to my original version of WB for now and things seem to be more stable. I still can't update the Icon Packager, but it's an [RC] anyway so no big deal. I am a little concerned about system stability with some of the themes and visual styles I've tried. I'm running this 22 inch monitor in it's native resolution of 1680 x 1050. Could this cause any issues? It's going to take me quite awhile to check out all of the parts of this program so I'll prob

Cavan, Well I did as you instructed. Things have changed. Now I have WB 4 & 5 in my list as well as 6. I ran the update for 6 again. It's been 15 minutes now and the "applying install actions" area at the top of the page is still active so I threw caution to the wind and cancelled and opened WB. New Version 6.01(build 42 x86). The version it was trying to update to is 6.01[b].106. Now I am also being asked for activation again. Here is the new sys info copy: WindowBlinds ver

Cavan, I have the current version of Stardock Central. I bought the WB and installed the version they linked me to in my confirmation email. My current version of WB is 6.01(build 40 x86).
