Newest Additions Change in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

If you will look over to the right hand side you will notice a new box, Updated Skins. Because of a problem where some skin authors were abusing their priveledge of updating their skins just so it would show up in the newest additions box we have separated new skins and updated skins into their own boxes. I've never seen or heard of a virus within a cookie. And as crae mentioned they are just data and do not get executed so the likely hood of them containing a virus is next to nothing.

Yes, this has been discussed before. The idea behind it is that updated skins should be reannounced (so to speak). So we have used the Newest Additions Box to do this. What might be a better solution is to have a Newest box and an Updated box. This way, it does not show up as a new skin, but they still receive a benefit of showing that their skin has been updated. Most likely the downloads will not be as high this way making it more equal.

In my judging for the fastest skin I used 3 different benchmarking programs and did a combined rating systems between the three. So needless to say I spent a great deal of time in judging this category. And I also took into consideration on how fast it is to use the skin like Nakor did. But it was interesting to see the speed differences between the 3 programs (SkinBench, XPBench and WBTimer). There was no 1 skin that was fastest between all 3 programs.

For some reason it appears that a cookie will either become corrupted or have some sort of value that interfers with the logon process. I'm not sure what's happening as it doesn't even do anything with a cookie until after the database query. Unfortunately I haven't been able to spend too much time looking into this problem but deleting the cookie solves the problem 99% of the time. Anyway, Go Vote. About every two days a new category will be available to vote on.
