Do circumstances matter when it's comes to legality and ethics? If you're a student, it's cheating. If it's used as a tool to generate visual effects for a blockbuster movie, then it's good business? Personally, if I was a student, back in school again, I would avoid AI, but since I am not, I must admit that I do enjoy using it as a tool to generate custom desktop wallpaper!

Open up the SkinStudio app, double click on a skin, change skin colors and play around with the app, and see what you can do with it. Keep in mind that you might be taking at least a small risk in changing the colors around. It could mess up the skin. IMO. I could be wrong, though.

The only answer I can think of is to have a second backup machine [desktop or laptop] available with Windows 10 so that you can still have the taskbar thumbnail size that you want. Strange. At first I thought it was maybe because those were old themes, perhaps designed for Windows XP or Windows 7, but then I saw that they were much more recent, and therefore should not be having any issues. Odd. I downloaded and installed Viking Warrior. As far as I can tell, it works fine. No issues. No problem with the drop down menu in Win Explorer. I am unable to reproduce this issue on my system. There must be something else going on.

I am not sure what you mean by "selection box". Can you provide a screenshot? Also, what version of Windows 10 are you using? You can find out by typing in "Winver.exe" in the run dialog box. I think I see the reason for your issue. Windowblinds works best when it is used along with Start11. I don't use Deskscapes, but I downloaded High Mountain Lake Flowers, and it took about 35 seconds, not too bad. I didn't think that it took too long, considering the fact that it's really a small, miniture video. Of course, it is going to take longer to download than a CursorFx file, or a Windowblind, or a Wallpaper. I thought that the download speed was acceptable, and it didn't bother me. Perhaps a change in the power settings? Perhaps try disabling sleep mode? Perhaps when the problem happens, shut the PC down and just reboot? Just a few ideas off the top of my head. Or perhaps the answer could simply be doing a system restore to a previous restore point? Have you thought of trying that last option? That's very strange and unusual. Seems extremely unlikely that all of those machines would be infected by some possible virus causing that issue. The only scenario that might make sense is if all the machines were old and having bad ram and failing hard drives, but I don't think that's the case here. Something's going on and I don't know what it is. And that's frustrating!

Joseph, I have most of those programs, except for Fences, and I do not have the same issue. It is possible that you might have a faulty or bad installation of one of those programs, OR a software conflict with another app that doesn't work very well with Stardock software. If I had to take a guess, the villian might very well be a faulty or defective Fences installation. A purge and reinstall may very well be the answer. There is a tool called "System Transparency" that I believe neone6 used in the past to enhance the look of his blinds. I have used it occasionally. Perhaps it can solve this person's issue stated on this thread. Like Mr. Spock has said, "There are always alternatives." Since neone6 has used it, it probably is a safe app to use. personally, I have not had any problems with it, nor have I experienced any software conflicts.

Are you by any chance, also using classic shell, or any other start menu app, other than Stardock's Start11? Sometimes 3rd party software can create a system conflict that results in what you are describing. If that is not the case, it could be that a problematic install and or a download, is at fault, assuming that was done recently., and you may want to search the forums here on how to do a purge and reinstall. There is one web browser that skins very well and easily with Windowblinds, and it is called "Pale Moon", a fork or mod of Firefox. Problem is, Pale Moon is slow compared to Firefox, especially when it comes to videos. So you may not want to use it. But it is a possible option or alternative.
