I'm having the same issues. I recently reinstalled Galciv2 and can't get a new game going. Strangely enough if I continue from an old save the game loads fine but when trying to start a new one it crashes at the same point as OP. I originally bought the game at launch but I haven't played much. It was too much RTS and too little 4X for me at the time. Anyway, I was thinking of jumping back in and buying the two expansions but I was wondering if the AI has been improved. Is it challenging in any way or is the meat of the game in PvP? Very nice write up. To get out of the "stuck" top down city view you have to drag with the mousewheel pressed to change the camera angle.

When I tried to run it it says the game is not available and for me to come to this website. Well, I am here and see nothing about why it is "not available" even though it is on my computer.
