Another feature of Demigod that adds replayability and results in variation from one match to the next is the ability to upgrade your Fort. This is not something you can do in Dota. The tech tree for your fort is even larger than that for the individual demigods. Naturally, players are often reluctant to use their hard-earned gold to upgrade the fort, and instead by gear for their demigod. However, when players do put their gold into the fort, this can definately change the way the
I haven't been able to connect a single game since beta 2, before I barely managed to join a pair of games of which I got disconnected. Indeed it's the last pre-purchase I made from stardock to join a beta. Seriously if this game doesn't improve the connections before release like a 1000% or start using dedicated servers as it should be for an on-line focused game it's going to be a complete fiasco.
Yes I agree that the game itself is amazing. I'm still quite puzzled by why they went with P2P connections instead of through a server. Most of the people that I'm connected with have a ping of 150+ and it makes me lag horribly bad in game.
For the few games I've actually managed to get into, I haven't really noticed the lag. It's always nice to have a low ping, but for a game like this ping isn
I have played dota for many years and also enjoy many RTS games, in particular company of heroes. Sacrifice by Shiny, another game that has influenced DG, was also one of my all-time favorite games. The game is really fun. Its a blast to play when you can actually connect to MP matches. The matches can vary a lot due to the skill of the players, match settings, and the variety in each demigod's skill tree. Match settings such as experience-gain and tower strength can really sp
Glad to see you have you have acknowledge that "Connectivity MUST BE BULLET PROOF. If you can't reliably get into games, Demigod will fail." The game itself is F*#&'ing super-awesome. But the connectivity issue is really spoiling it right now.
It is even more difficult for me to get into a game since Beta 3 was released [rage] Every time a new beta comes out, I manage to connect to a few games and I have had a blast playing those games. However, it usually takes at least a dozen attempts, which means 15+ minutes just to get into a game that wont last more than 30 minutes. About a week after each beta, the MP lobby is mostly dead. I think most of us would agree this is not due to the game itself, but to the c
How come there is no indicator that a game requires a password to join? Whenever I join one of these games by accident, I click Cancel because i don't know the password and the game just stalls on "trying to join." I have to use Alt+F4 to exit.

Will the next version be compatible with TA?
Where can I download the BSG mod? I don't see it in the Library.

Does anybody else wish that the edge-scrolling scaled with the zoom level? On large maps when you zoom way out, scrolling moves like a turtle when using the edge of the screen. If you compensate for this by increasing the 'edge-scroll' speed in the options menu, then when you scroll while zoomed in it moves WAY too fast.
Why not combine Galciv 3 with a Spore type editor. Allow us to design our own races and buildings like that to use in our games. Give us emotional connections to our people. Make us care. Obviously the spaceship editor is already in, but perhaps make a version thats less blocky and edgy. More round softness. Organic tech ships.
How about a feature that populates your
22. You private message Brad every day asking him "why no multiplayer?"
At peak and non-peak times, on average, how many players are in the MP lobby?
There's no point in Brad's answering this thread. He's already done so in multiple other places. It's not possible to "give us the tools." He'd have to give us the source code and someone would have to re-write most of the game. There are so many reasons that either one won't happen that it's near ridiculous. If it's been done for other games, it's simply because the engine of the other games made it possible. This game has no such capability.Give up on making GalCiv2 multiplayable an
I haven't slept for several days, and I think its because Brad will not acknowledge this thread. X-(
Im aware of that, but I like to scroll by using the edge of the screen too.
I love the new 'zoom-to-mouse feature,' however the zoom-in and out speed is too slow for me. Is there any way to adjust the zoom speed? If not, could this be implemented in a future patch? Also, my scroll speed is set to 100% yet its too slow, especially on larger maps. When zoomed all the way out, the scroll just crawls... I realize that it is covering more area, but it would be nice if we could scroll faster when zoomed out. *edit* I am referring to scrolling by moving your mou
Anyone know? Im curious too.
Never underestimate the modding community. MP mods have been made for games that were never intended for MP. GTA for example. Someone even managed to make a multiplayer mod for Oblivion. However it was barely functional, and the creator stopped working on it. Nevertheless, it did allow players to connect and interact with each other. Why not give us the tools and let us try? Unless of course this would require the source code.
I was being sarcastic. I am a professional troll. /end. kplzthx
