Yea, Stardock's pretty well known for just putting out the game and doing an expansion and abandoning it. I mean, heck, I don't think we ever touched Galactic Empires or whatever the heck it's called after we shipped that bugger. We just sat back and tossed out a couple of expansion when the lease payments on our private jets came in. I mean, that's what people think of when they think of a Stardock published game
What I said is that if you like Dota you'll PROBABLY like Demigod. Similarly, if you like Master of Orion, you'll probably like Galactic Civilizations. Naturally, at the end of the GalCiv betas we had plenty of Master of Orion fans telling us how terrible GalCiv was because it wasn't enough like MOO.
Oh hai brad, This is the solution http://forums.demigodthegame.com
Mittens is afraid to rematch me after what happened in our last match. His team eventually won, but I killed him about 10 times and he only got me once near the end (when my team gave up).
Come on you cowards.
I was not arguing for a one-lane map. Stop it.
See this thread for the solution: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/343533
Shrink the maps and turn DG into Dota-Arena. I've been an avid Dota player for years and cannot deny that DG feels a lot like Dota. There are subtle differences, but for the most part they are very similiar. In my opinion the biggest difference is that DG occasionally feels like an actual "War." This tends to happen mid to late game on smaller maps with more players than the map is supposed to support. For example 5v5 on Prison. Mid-game there are dozens of creeps all over the
The party starts around 7 pm (central time), because I say so. If we can get enough people, maybe we can have a tournament. It would be nice to see some Stardock folks as well. Mittens and I have unsettled business and need to determine who is the better Regulous. Sign here if you intend to show up.
A Demigod "creator" would be ideal [e digicons]:D[/e] Something that worked in a way that wouldn't require players to download these creations before joining matches.
I'm confused. Can someone please sum up what we are ragin' about? I'd like to join in.
ETA on 2.5?
Oh I see the history notes now. I thought those were for the previous update.
What's in it? Tell me Erebus got some luv.
Cumulative necessity... I wouldn`t want a *single* drop-in player to be capable of downgrading my entire group`s game experience...
How is that implied by what either I, Hack78 or lbgsloan have said? We are talking about the host to starts the match. Sins doesn't support drop-in players anyway. If it did, presumably they would just be subject to the host's rules anyway.
The solution is very simple. The host determines which expansion or lack thereof will be in play. If the host is on vanilla, then anyone who joins via the Entrenchment client will be subject to vanilla rules. Why is this so hard to implement? It doesn't even need to be like Dawn of War (that would give Entrenchment players an unfair advantage). If the host does not have the expansion, just limit the rules to those that the host can support.
Then dont run Entrenchment just run the vanilia sins. You do have and get that option.
I realize this, but that still fractures the game community. I would like to be able to run the latest expansion and choose to either join a vanilla game or a game with the expansion. Otherise I have to open sin twice just to check and see how many matches for each are up.
From what I understand you can pick and choose which expansion you wish to play (all none or mix). Everybody can play vaniliia with or without the expansions, after that it is narrowed down to who has what but you will not need to the expansions to play with someone who does have the expansions. They just will not be able to use their expansions when they play against you.
If you use the Entrenchment launcher, when you cl
Greetings Everyone! I just wanted you all to know that the mod has been uploaded, and is available from DANMAN GAMES. Go to www.danmangames.com, look around if you wish, which I hope you do, then go to PRODUCTS, then MODS. You will see the 7DS info there, as well as the download link. It is temporary up, until I put it on my secure server. After that, the link will change. I will also be updating the
It would be nice if the host had an option to kick a lagging player, instead of having to wait for that 'ejection' screen to pop up. Most players leave before that point anyway.
Why does one player's lag cause everyone to stutter? In most games if someone has a high ping, then that person simply has a longer delay between when a command is sent to when it actually occurs in the game. Usually when a player's ping becomes too high, and that players is in danger of dropping, the game pauses and waits for the player's ping to drop or for the other players to vote on a 'kick.' See warcraft 3, company of heroes, or just about any RTS. Can someone explain how Demigo
Unfortunately, Sins has been a particularly NOT user-friendly online gamec from the start. Where warcraft and starcraft are basically idiot-proof for getting online games to work, in Sins you need to have a pretty advanced understanding of port forwarding to make it work. This is slightly better now that they introduced alloy (too little too late), but most of those 500,000 people you mentioned already made up their minds. Add to this
How frequent are these expansion packs going to be? Every other month? Once a year?
Frogboy, what do you think of my idea for letting players join games? It isn't technically a 'drop-in' feature, as in other games like WiC. Do you think it would work?
