You can script the DL and do a silent install of it at any point. There is just no method to do that in-app. The one issue you wont be able to get around is the app needing a reboot after each one.
You can script a DL? I didn't see that in the Stardock docs anywhere. The only time an automatic downloader is mentioned is if someone pays for the whole Object Desktop package and gets its up
Uhhhhh I disagree on all of that. If silent updates tripped an AV, then most of the consumer software made in the last 15 years would be affected. If chat apps, web browsers, and games can update si

From what I understand (someone from Stardock please feel free to totally correct me on this), Start11 is actually a "clone" of the Windows Start Menu and Taskbar. Instead of patching Microsoft's code like ExplorerPatcher does, Start11 sort of pushes MS's code to the side and runs Stardock's code. That was a huge draw for me to buy Start11, as modern cybersecurity needs (state sponsored cyberwarfare) means we really shouldn't be patching MS's code like that if we can help it.
Hey all, I was wondering if there was a way to silently update Start11 in the background (sort of how web browsers update these days). I'm likely upgrading an older family member's computer in the next month to Windows 11, and they are the least likely to click an update button. So having a pop up notice appear for every update means that Start11 would likely never get any updates installed on their computer. Hence the need for a silent updater of some kind (either official or some

The Start Button needs a bit of work... It looks too much like the rest of the Superbar icons.
Everytime I try to edit a post on an article, it doesn't save the changes (yes, I clicked Save).
Wow... Looks sexy! And it works great in Google Chrome! [e digicons]:P[/e] EDIT: OMG I DON'T NEED TAGS ANYMORE!!! :D
This all has to do with the economic recession. More than ever, people are looking to save money. $20 for an app that only skins stuff (no matter how much code is in it) is seemed as a wasteful way of spending money to the average person. Plus, the skins I see today just don't have the same "glow" I saw as those when I first got into skinning in 2007. Back then, many ideas were just being created. Vista was just released, which gave skinning a boost since everyone was trying to mimic Vista on XP
This isn't an accurate assessment. You only switched between Aero mods. I would like to see the time it takes to switch between two completely different skins.
Good to know! :)
YOU GUYS MADE C|NET!!! http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-10367053-12.html
I would like to see the ability to move the Vista/7 details pane to the top so I don't have to hack my files for that ability. :)
Anyone got a Luna port yet? I'm very curious on how XP's UI will look on Windows 7... :P
I am not privileged enough to get Win7 from TechNet/MSDN, nor am I one of the handful who were invited into the closed beta. I'm still waiting on OEM copies from e-tailers... which I hope will be soon and prior to retail street date.
Don't worry... You're not alone. :( Someone please make it very obvious when the OEM discs hit Newegg!
happy birthday dA!
The leak doesn't have a watermark...
Actually, all builds up to RTM have the watermark...
The UI is a bit too dark for my tastes... :(
So does this mean that MyColors finally works on Windows 7?
OMG! You're using the leak! :P
Nice skins! :)
