I would encourage everyone working on skinning to check what their skins look like on Windows 8. Almost all the skins that came with Windowblinds looked bad in my installation. I keep the taskbar at the right hand edge of the screen. It's great that the feature of mixing taskbar and Windows from different skins is still in Windowblinds. However when I tried keeping Start 8 and only applying Windowblinds to the Windows, Start 8 went black, and the desktop went black too.

Object dock 2 is hiding the dock. After 10 minutes I still have not managed to locate the setting for switching off autohide. Please could somebody tell me where to find it. This is a very large dock with about a hundred icons. It has one tab.
It ran perfectly fine on Windows 8 (version 1.8 that is) because I ran it on Win 8 since I got the Beta version on Win 8 at least 6 months ago. It was just the overzealous licensing that was broken; or stopped functioning. I've solved it now.
Ah ok, I see. But my license is still valid, isn't it? The product RUNS and it registers in Stardock Central. So why should I not be able to register it? That's all I am asking. And after my recent experiences with Stardock products, I am not in the mood to upgrade (i.e. pay) for anything right now, so that's not on the horizon either way.
Yes, you are just renting it if you use the Object Desktop subscription. If a year has expired and you change machines, you can no longer install it and have to pay up again. I am having lots of problems with my ObjectDock plus installation and trying to resolve the problem without losing the work I've already put into creating a very nice Object dock. Just google "Disasble charm bar in Windows 8" or something like that. It can be disabled from the Windows, you don't need a Stardock product for this. However, do bear in mind that if you have to follow Microsoft instructions for how to fix some problem on your machine, they point to how to get to different parts of the computer, by means of the charm bar only. Hi, I can't find a clear list of what's included in Object Desktop, and I though Objectdock Plus fell under the license of Object Desktop..? Is anyone able to shed some light?
Had to re-install the OS and now Stardock requires re-registration. However, the Activation module crashes upon entering the registration code and pressing submit. This happens for all products on a fresh Win 8, 64 bit install In Start 8, I am getting an error message saying Product Activation could not write the activation signature.
Well if that's the attitude, I certainly DO feel cheated and when this subscription is up I'm done with Stardock. I won't "trouble" this company any further. I've had 3 installations that have been more time consuming than I EVER experience with any other paid for software and that includes the insanely messy Audible Manager which is a hate object online. Just downloaded an .exe file outside of Stardock Central and it was unable to register, despite me using the exact same credentials as in Stardock Central. So, fail.
