I'm going to post these here instead of starting a new thread (though that may become necessary)... There are 2 errors I see come up A LOT in the debug...both of these errors are with the base game, no mods needed.... *** TextureSystem could not find file (SkinTech) within TextureSystem's working directory (Textures). *** TextureSystem could not find file (kay_solarflare_Blue) within TextureSystem's working directory (Textures). There is no SkinTech

Assert @ C:\Projects\P4\SinsRebellion\Release\CodeSource\Engine/DirectX/D3D9.cpp(732) releaseCount == 0 I got this when I tried to change my texture settings in the dev.exe...this was through the in-game options, MD as soon as I tried to change them.... Tried again, no error or MD...haven't gotten it to come up again... This occurred first time after trying to use dev.exe with the DLC...

Bing and Google, split about half and half... The thing is, I use IE10, so whenever I immediately search via the address bar I am immediately using Bing...this is mostly due to me not thinking... When I actually think about it, I almost always go to Google, then do my search... I'd say I think Google is better, yet I have nothing more than "feelings" to support that claim....anyone tried the Google vs. Bing test? htt
As for the first one, the reason I ask is that I've parse through all the mod's ability/buff files, and ensured that they won't give off any errors, so I'm at a loss as to what could cause that sort of error, save mesh issues.
I one time tried to use the corvette meshes as SC and got that error with the TEC one...there's a limit on how many exhaust points an SC can have and the TEC corvette has like 6.... <

Lots of things can cause the first error, so I'd say focus on the 2nd.... Hmmm...seems like you have a situation somewhere where the "min" value is bigger than the "max" value...could be something in the gameplay.constants file (marketDef?)...could be in a planet entity (resource asteroid counts?)....could be in the asteroiddef file, you have min/max counts there as well...maybe something in the GSD (can't remember if min/max counts crop up in that anywhere)....

Capital victory (as in capital planet ) and research victory are best at limiting how long the game goes on...flagship victory can actually prolong the game depending on how crafty certain players are... And yes, I agree with you that it is rather strange having a free "capital ship" at start....

Isn't that how all the default starts are set? You determine what the player starts with based off their starting race...that's how TEC start with TEC extractors and a TEC factory (as opposed to some other race's)....

Do you know anything about performance issues, such as what a game or an autocad may run into? I couldn't personally test it (since I couldn't get my discrete graphics driver to work) but my friend tells me it there is a significant hit to performance (borderline unplayable for the games he was interested in)...this was a couple years ago on a computer with respectable specs... If that has gotten a lot better and I can get my damn Nvidia driver to work, I'd consider

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387 There's a link to the 2005 Visual C++ Redistributable...that is the one needed by Sins... I would only install it through the provided link if none of the above solutions (or something suggested by SD support) does not help you.....
Take a look at the top Linux distros. The UI is incredibly easy to learn. Even as easy as Windows.
I don't disagree with this statement...however, I believe W8 is very easy to learn (and very similar to W7)...therefore, if W7 lovers are complaining about the W8 UI, then I wouldn't be surprised if they would complain about any Linux UI as well...it's not a slant at Linux UIs, but rather a "if A and B are both slightly di
