I'd be wary of playing in windowed mode...it adversely affects performance (even if it helps you make things prettier)....

I really feel like I'm missing out on some inside joke....
You can always use the map designer in game to quickly look at whatever planets you want to...

The only reason I can possibly think of that would ever give cobalts an advantage over disciples is the build times.... The base build time for a disciple is 22 while for a cobalt it is 24 (these are the base build times, game speed will change them but both would be modified by the same multiplier)... So, on a pure fleet supply basis, disciples are building at 5.5 seconds per fleet supply while cobalts are building at 4.8 seconds per fleet supply...in short, cobalts
All capital ships, SBs, titans, and hangars still have SC.... Albeit, not very many...
I removed carriers from my personal mod....how happy my life has become....how unlaggish my Sins games have been....
Generate a few maps with the in-game map designer and it is very apparent that terrans are heavily biased... I can only assume that the devs have programmed the game to generate a terran whenever the GSD asks for a DLC planet to generate....probably just a temporary fix to the phase lane bug....
I personally rush deliverance engine, I find it more useful in the long run than a titan...plus, it doesn't cost fleet supply (which incurs maintenance costs).....

Yes Riddleking...because in the first 5-15 minutes (after, you know, you got your titan) you'll be swarming your enemy with mines....
What we need is a controlled setup, same map and player distances, but one where the Vasari player rushes a TEC (marza + cobalts) and another where the Vasari player rushes an Advent (Prog + disciples)...
I think we could simplify this by saying that the manifests are what matter most since those determine which files (and consequently what meshes and textures) are loaded....so, make sure you don't have unnecessary files in your manifests... I would imagine that if you had large textures with lots of "waste" (ie you have a texture with 50 icons but your brushes file only references one of them) you might have a longer startup load time, but I don't think it would affec

Well, that's certainly an excuse I haven't heard before...
I'm currently of the mindset that mods are just going to have to require the player to have the DLC...unfortunate for some I suppose, but it's not a whole lot different than choosing whether to embrace a $10 micro expansion like Entrenchment or Diplomacy...
Of the 42 steam friends I have that own Sins, only a handful still play anymore, and all of them are either MP or do work for the devs....
I feel like this is the appropriate place to humbly request that Unity Mass do chaining damage...
Zombie, I'm fully aware of the mathematics of PMs and read that thread when it was made... Advent do have higher shield mitigation late game , but not in early or even mid game...however, they always have more shields and thus will always be more susceptible to weapons that bypass them...well before late game, you will commonly see advent capital ships or titans die to Vasari fleets (read: bombers or kanraks) despite still having substantial shield points
I think the bigger reason why PMs are unbalanced is that they disproportionately affect the factions....they are far more effective against Advent than against TEC, which means that no matter what bypass chances or damage values you give them they will never be balanced in faction matchups... If they are perfect in the TEC vs. Vasari matchup, they'll be OP against Advent...if they are perfect in the Advent vs. Vasari matchup, they'll be UP against TEC... I honestly don
Awesome idea man, but when they add those now planets in the DLC, the ferrus planet needs to turn into a magnetic cloud, not a plasma storm.
It's Ferrous! Ferrus makes me think it's inhabited by ferrets....
Idk man....Irondock sounds like the name of a transformer....Starclad sounds like the name of a pokemon...tough call either way...

Seems more logical that novaliths would just vaporize the planet into plasma.....how convenient that we have plasma storms in Sins....
