Old thread, new idea. How about converting this to a MyColors theme,with/wo extras?Failing that, anybody up to making a WC/Winky-based DXplayer? Winky For President!

Summer is right around the corner(in the USA anyway)so my mom sent me this. New Treatment For Sunburn A guy fell asleep on the beach for several hours and got horrible sunburn, specifically to his upper legs. He went to the hospital, and was promptly admitted after being diagnosed with second-degree burns. With his skin already starting to blister, and the severe pain he was in,the doctor prescribed continuous intravenous feeding with saline, electrol
[edit]If you select either one and it says "please wait"and your screen flashes then it is changing over. What you see is what you get.
There isn't a big difference between the two.How to tell which one you have:Vista standard/greyish start menu and buttons with your user pic above it on the right, windows don't animate(they"shrink",not fade in and out) when min/restoring,taskbar lighter colored.---- Vista Basic/darker taskbar and startmenu, bluegrey buttons, user pic inside the start menu on right side. The effects are very subtle, personally I don't miss them enough to switch back over and always have a WB loaded anyway. It's
Fill her with helium, and you have cheap transportation! :d (parachute pants optional at extra cost)
I remember too. Have not installed an MyColor scheme since.
I think he was talking about AlienGUIse. My niece had to do a complete recovery to get it out of her Vista laptop. It was a real train wreck. She made no restore points or back-ups so she lost everything....kids! ;p

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner. If you use the Vista UI(no WB) and want the animations, pick Vista Basic. When you apply a Windowblind though, it will change it to Vista Standard. You have to change it back each time you unload Windowblinds if you want the effects on.This confused me at first too. ;)
No edit again. X-( Never mind,I read where it said XP only for MP skin. However,Invader on TSF's site works quite well(and is awesome) with WMP11 and Vista,if you want to fill out the suite.
I may give it a shot, thanks Darken. Can anyone tell me if I'll need to delete my Invader WMP skin first or will it be ok to overwrite it ?
Anybody else still having trouble recoloring packages? Mine stopped working right after the first day. The first 10 minutes actually.
Yes, and if you look at my post (#40)it's worse than that. I have determined from going in and deleting all the duplicate, colored icon files that the image corruption occurs in the recolored packages. Some were totally unusable. The originals are ok.I can recolor or change brightness, IP creates a duplicate, sometimes corrupt package but will
Is this a MyColors theme when installed or a separate app than MC/WB? Vista had issues with AlienGUIse. :NOTSURE: I think I'll stick with what I have for skinning my PC.The Invader and ALX Vortex media player skins for WMP11 are awesome though, and work well.

I take a picture with my Pentax35mm,take the film to Wal-mart,get it developed, have it enlarged, scan the picture, save it,then upload it. I sure wish there was something like a "print screen" button or something, and a way to paste the image in some graphics program. But then that would be the lazy, easy way. ;p
You might actually get a peak at the rare but loud forum goose. Avast/Windows Defender.
Now,off to the wallpaper gallery. ;) They sure look great without icons all over them.Enjoy your new docks. :D
And isn't it nice of MS. Since we don't get aero, they give us two versions of ugly. ;p (Wizard quickly re-applies Windowblinds, trying not look at it) ;) {edit} You only need to re-boot if the Vista Basic option is missing, otherwise just select it and apply. And it's only disappeared on me 3 times,so that's rare, not "once in a while". :D
With control panel go to personalization and appearances, go to color schemes, classic ,you should see Vista basic and Vista standard. One does the window effects and has a different user pic location than the other.I use home basic also. Once in a while a blind will unload Vista basic, leaving only standard. when that happens,re-apply Vista desktop to unload WB's and reboot. I hope this helps. :D [edit] Vista Basic is the one with the animated windows, but I think WB's needs it set to Standard.
Will it let you re-apply the normal windowsUI without a reboot,or does it hang then also? What skins have you tried? If you want, post a little more of your system specs, and steps you're taking.I'm sure that will help. The mods may move this thread over to a better spot, where more may see it. Hang in there.
I'd suggest you install it again and post your system info (in a new post) so we can see what is wrong and get it fixed.
You may even want to start a new post, like Zubaz
Giblets? Run,Geese,Run!!!
Sorry but i do not intend to install again as i have tried 3 times already.
There's no shame in asking for help. 6.1 has significant improvements over 6.0. No bugs that I've seen. Runs very well on my low-spec rig w/Vista Home Basic. Why not put the terrific resources available here to work for you. They won't give up 'til your fixed. :D Good Luck!
If that's just for a day off, vacations must be a real blast. Best one I ever did was fill a co-workers toolbox drawers to the top with floor-dry,all 18 of them.
Have you tried simply clearing the cookies then logging back in yet? Does that problem with rating skins apply to all skins you try to rate?
All skins, and walls. Odd, though I've been clearing them out in IE7 w/'tools' and ccleaner,no help. It just did the same thing with FF3,( not rating)but FF let me "target" WinCustomize cookies specifically.I cleared them out and now both browsers are working again. :CONGRAT: Thanks for your response.
Bravo Neil.
Ditto on that. Unless you've seen it,you have no idea just how fugly Vista Home Basic without WindowBlinds is. X-( No way could I go back to that. ;)
Same before and after update:DVD drive E icon appears when the window first opens, then it defaults back instantly.Minor,imo.Recoloring a package creates a subfolder in public documents/stardock/icon packager/packagename/colored.The one I tested with was 20mb in size.So I now have 40mb of space occupied by this package.Same for all that I've recolored, except a couple that also have a back-up file! How do I temporarily change the colors without creating a duplicate file? Or do I just have to dele
