I'd like to be able to change the icons on the main map. Or at least assign the icon I'd prefer. It seems when you put a survey ship in a fleet, the icon for the fleet uses the tiny survey icon. I have a Battle Fleet with a fleet scout/survey unit and it has this tiny little icon, instead of a BIG HUGE ICON!!!

I guess that's been the point about SOME of the mega events! They are "Game Breakers" and some events should be 'toned down' OR AI adjusted for the temperment of the game being played? The AI races do not seem capable of dealing with any of these events.
Depending on your resolution setting, they are probably not shown. USE the "SCOLL BAR" that appears on the right side of the menu for the settings. That should do it!
Depends how crowded you want it! I usually let the randomizer generete the map systems and then delete the systems where I want "specific layout" in and then add my systems. Remember, all planets that belong to a star,!!!"MUST be in the same sector" as the star!!! The bigger the map, the more spreadout you'll likely want the planets. I don't know what the star limit is for the game. It is based on map size with ~500 stars for the immense map. Maybe someone from SD might
Play it, and they will come...
On a huge map, that will probably add weeks of playing time...
Make your own maps and you can have as many or few as you want.
Influence it away from them.
I think the limit is twelve to a system. So keep it around 5-6 per system and you should be fine. OR put them in last, after having saved your map. This way, you won't lose the map. Every couple of saves, try the map in the "New Game" menu to see if the game will still load it. You don't want to go too far along on a map that the game is having problems with!
I've had the same problem. I always save the map in increments now. This way when the map fails to load I can always try a previous version of that map and see if that works. Your map will not load, so you can either go back to a previous save of it or just delete it and start over. It seems that adding planets and asteroids after the map is finished will cause some sort of problem. You have probably made a few deletions or have added to many asteroids on the map.
Games at those levels take a long time to play out. In reality, to win at those levels you need a bit of luck too!
Yea, I agree! Makes the "Skip" button look really good...
They are in the /(YOUR FILE NAME)/My Games/GC2TwilightArnor folder. Just double click on My Computer and your file will be listed in the widow along with your drives. OR just search for the folder "My Games" and that is where you will find all the saved race files and save games. I should also mention that you should probably not use ID#13 as that is for the Dreadlords and the game will use their files. (I haven't checked it out, but if you want to, you can try it and let us know if it
Yes you can, BUT it involves editing the race file in notepad or text editor. Create your race and save it. Decide which races you want in the game and then edit the custom race to 'take the place' of any unwanted race. Ex. Terrans are race ID #0. If you change the custom race file from ID#12 (which is custom race ID number) to 0 they will be put in the Terran slot. You can only have one of each race ID so you will not be able to use the terrans in any game that you choose your custom race
Are there more cheat codes and where are they listed?
Yea, I get that "trash talk" alot. Then three or four turns later they are asking for my help$$$!!! It is comical.
The cheat works fine. Just start up a new game, hit the keys and your off to the design room!!!
Naw! That's just the name of the next violent game to be released soon. "Jacks Back" and it will be the most violent court case video game ever published! Not only that, I have some of Jacks' swamp land in Florida to sell you!!!
Thanks all! I'll try the cheat thingee.
Looks like you have a resource problem or you need to update your laptop drivers.
Is there a program to make ship templates without having to play thru the game? It would be nice to have a program that would let you make templates of your ship style with all hull sizes (Tiny thru Huge) without having to play the game to that point. <P class=MsoNorma
When you set up your races in the game start, right after you choose your race your opponents will be in the next screen. Choose the Drengin and a box will show "Edit" and "Disable" in the bottom screen. Choose "EDIT" and then on the next screen there will be a slider menu. Set the AI to "Krynn" and then save the Drengin. The game will use that file for the Drengin unless you choose the default race again. It will still be saved so you can load them again later.
Try playing the Drengin and Korath under the Krynn AI (edit the race in the setup panel). I've found it adds a whole new look to them!
I had a 16b population Iconian world that I influenced over to my side. The population growth centers were all destroyed in the transfer between races. So my 16b pop. was headed down to 8b. They should leave the population growth facilities on an influenced or captured planet as you can replace them with your own. I don't see any reason to destroy them.
