World in Conflict uses this idea in its multiplayer with fantastic results. One player controls infantry, another armor, another air force, and another support weapons. 4v4 matches with two teams. Pretty fun, but that game is tactics... it seems like it would take a looooot of effort to implement a solution for how two players interact with essentially one interface to control one empire. Well I had to write this post because I can't believe that this made it past testing, but it ruins the entire game. Resources are completely overpowered, its just a matter of getting more resources and the more you have the more able you are to get more! This wouldn't be a problem if you couldn't also use them to get way more ships than the other guy... its end game every time. Oh yeah, and they are INVINCIBLE. Oh man... I think that was called Star Wars Rebellion... So, so terrible. And the worst part is that I blamed myself for not being able to interpret the interface. Even bought the Prima Guide. What a sad nightmare that was.
