Forget the 105 bonuspack, that is just the last patch available without Impulse. When you have 1.15 Sins is up to date, and no other updates or installs are required.
XP may be antiquated, but it's rock solid Indeed - better than using a beta, sorry, Vista...
Actually, the beta is called Windows 7 :p My firefox has screwed up my webmail site so bad that the usual logging in windows doesn't work. It's propably a two second fix, but meh..
It's always nice to hear the background from the developers, and again, there was a hint that an extensive campaign will come sooner or later. Keep up the good work, "Galactic Supremacy" can only get better [e digicons][/e]
Here's a How-To for Vista with screenshots: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/ Only the AppData folder is hidden on that path.
If it's not even doing that, try rebinding the screenshot function to a different key in the options. Some people have found that Vista does not always work with prntscrn.[/Qu
I've been hitting the printscreen key pretty frequently (and have confirmed that it is bound for screen capturing), but still nothing has appeared. Even the text "Saved screenshot at.." doesn't appear. This is with Entrenchment, haven't tried in vanilla.
Actually, some time during the Entrenchment beta, my screenshots folder disappeared, it was supposed to be (in Vista) in C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Screenshots, right? (Sorry for threadjacking)
I used to be able to take screen shots with the print screen key but now the game just pauses and never takes a screen. I go to eh folder and there is nothing there.
Same here, but i don't even have the folder. Nice pictures you have there, Advent have the prettiest ships.
Wormholes are only connected to one other wormhole, after you send a ship through, you can see a line connecting the holes when you select it. Of course, if there are only two wormholes in the map, thats a no brainer :)
In my understanding, there can be one starbase in every gravity well from each player, except stars, that can have four starbases from each player. I reserve the right to be mistaken, though :) Edit: late again, i'm beginning to understand how you got that enourmos amount of karma :O
Exactly, you need to scout ahead to avoid landing in a minefield. Also, if enemy gravity well is full of mines, set the fleet engament range to "local Area", or even "Stand Ground" to prevent them from chasing enemies to the minefield.
Like renaming enemy capital planet to "Suck-o-Polis" when he's not looking? [e digicons][/e]
You obiviously can't rename planets that you don't own, though :p
You need to micro the scouts when clearing Advent mines. Just yesterday i cleared about 50 homing mines (which the AI used to cover all his buildings on his homeworld, quite impressive from an AI) with a scout and strikecraft. You need to manually use the "Reveal Mines" ability on the furthest mines, and let strikecraft take them out, before moving the scout. it takes time, but is (almost) perfectly safe. BTW, my race was Vasari.
It serves no purpose, except informing your allies and enemies which of your ships is (usually) on highest experience level :)
Found a possible bug: When clearing Advent mines, there is no explosion effect, only a bright white square. Either something is wrong with the explosion effect, or just in my install.
Also, never actually seen the AI TEC detonate one of their bases. Anyone else?
I've never even seen an enemy starbase with Antimatter :S
Sounds pretty accurate Calania, as for Jm2010, lighten up a bit, you'll live longer, and happier :)
By the way, can anyone who has downloaded and used a mod in a longer game tell me if they have issues with particle effects not appearing later in the game? I was unable to reproduce this, and I am interested to see if this is a rare ocurrence or not.
Yes, it happens to me, on bigger battles late game Capital Ship and Starbase explosion sometimes don't show, smaller explosion however have always worked. I believe there is a cap o
The new cruisers seem to suffer extensively of this problem, setting them to group jump is guaranteed way to make sure they arrive late.
I hope they stay Sci-Fi, for some reason, i've grown out of Fantasy [e digicons]:'([/e]
When you receive a message saying "Your application to join the Unity has been denied on the grounds of being a PSIdiot." When you've made five posts on this topic [e digicons]:-"[/e]
I blew up some TEC and Advent starbases, and those screenshots don't do the explosions any justice. Well done [e digicons][/e] My poor old 9600GT is starting struggle with all that debris and particles. Now, when can we expect Dead.. i mean Carnage in Space?
Well, i'm not a navy man, so i don't really know. I've just noticed that the class isn't used in Sins.
I wondered that too. Thanks Kitkun [e digicons][/e]
My sister has contact lenses like that, it does look really creepy [e digicons]:S[/e] I'd really like to hear Sins of a Solar Empire: Unrated Edition. Speaking of M-rated games, i recently bought F.E.A.R. 2: Blood, Gore, Guts, Sex, Horror, "Strong" language, and the game isn't half bad either [e digicons][/e]
